Chapter 12

Hunter's POV

We arrived at the pack house. We stepped out of the car and started heading towards the door. I could sense all wolf's excitement that their Alpha was home. Griffin brought up his kings aura and it felt so good to feel even more safe. It was natural for all of us. I took Alex'es hand and gave a brief kiss to his knuckles. I looked at his handsome face and he gave me a gentle smile. I look back at Lia and so her eyes closing. She was frozen in place. Sh*t , it must be the alpha aura - she started to hyperventilate and I just shouted at her seeing her body sliding down. Fast. Towards the hard ground. I didn't even have a chance to blink when Griffin's hands caught her limp body.

What is happening between the two of them.. he's so protective... I asked my wolf .
I'm not sure Hunter. I feel very protective of her. It's like ... it's like she is someone important. Like a family... I really don't know.
He answered. I could feel his head hanging low. Sad that he cannot figure this out.
I looked at them. Griffin took Lia's body in his arms. Started to carry her to her new room. He's wolf eyes never leaving her face. He's wolf eyes...
That's ...
My train of thoughts was interrupted by a bush of red hair and exciting scream. Claire.. she was now running toward him but stopped half way.
"Who the f*ck is that? "
She yelled at him. He's wolf eyes looked at her with so much anger. He didn't like the lack of respect.
"Put her down! You have people to do this kind of the job. Hunter can carry her. You're a prince. You shouldn't be doing things like that. I don't want anyone seeing you touching other she wolf or human girl which ever she is". She said with so much jealousy that it was dripping of her tounge.
I don't think Alpha liked that tone. As he bared his canines at her. I could sense Griffin mentally fighting his wolf..
I know Griffin would never hurt Clarissa, he has chosen to be with her.. but his wolf...  it's a different story.
I decided to step in. Letting go of Alex hand I stepped quickly towards Griffin, who was bringing Lia closer to his chest in a protective gesture.
I raised both my hands up, showing I'm not a danger. I Needed to calm him down before he shifts. I bowed - showing my respect.
"Alpha, please let Griffin get back his control before something will happen that you both will regret. Remember who is in you arms. If she sees you like this she will be even more scared." I whispered to him. I didn't want anyone to hear what I said.
He quickly looked at Lia's face one more time and I could see his eyes going back to green.. thank goddess..
Griffin closed his eyes for a moment.
"Hunter please take Lia to her room I will meet you later " he said, a pain etched to his face.
His eyes still closed.
I took Lia's body in my arms gently and went into the castle . Alex following me . Leaving Griffin and Claire behind.

What the heck was that. I don't get it. He's wolf behaviour is just off. It's almost like she's his mate...
And then it hit me. She IS his mate...
My wolf howled in my head.
That makes sense.. I've felt protective about her from the beginning. Like she's my sister.. she is .. she's my Luna ..
my wolf exclaimed happily.
Does she knows? I asked him.
We will have to ask her when she comes back to us.
We stayed with Lia for a bit and Alex said he will look after her rest of the night. I agreed.
I went to bring him some pillows and blankets.

"Hunter, how is she?"- Griffin appeared behind the corner.
"She's asleep still, Alex is there looking after her. "
I answered. I could see Griffins eyes changing colour for a split of a second, Alpha wolf was peeking.
"Griffin what is with you and the girl? "I ask.
Prince shakes his head and looks away.
"I'm not sure Hunter. To be honest my wolf doesn't know either. He feels protective about her . I'm sure it's nothing " he says and I don't dig deeper. I expected him to go back to his room but he follows me into Lia's room and makes himself comfortable on the chair next to her bed. He's eyes all gold again.
I sigh. And take Alex hand in mine as I pull him out of the door.

Griffin's POV
I don't understand. What is about her that you cannot leave her alone. I ask my wolf.
I wish I could tell you. She's special. Important. I still didn't meet her wolf I don't know what is it but I feel like I need to protect her.

I sigh. I look at her face. She seems so peaceful. I lift my hand and gently stroke her hair, bringing in behind her ear.

I stay with her and after half an hour leave her room.

Back to Hunter's POV

After preparing a breakfast tray for Alex and Lia I head to her room. We spend last night in there, making sure she's fine.
Lia was still asleep. Alex was sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper and I came in, putting tray on the table next to her bed. I turned around and gave Alex a look. He got up and came to me fast, putting his arms around my waist. I kissed him deeply. Gosh I missed his lips.

"Ehm... you guys may want to change the room if you keep doing this ..." a small voice said behind my back. I turned around giving her a smile.
"It's good to see you back with us little one, we were worried" I said looking at her.
"I'm fine. I didn't expect to be hit with prince aura so much. I'm sorry that I made you uncomfortable " she said looking at her fingers.
"Alex honey, can you please give us a second?" I said looking in my mates eyes.
We will talk about it later - I mind link him
He nodded, got up and left the room.
Lia's face shoot up. She was scared.
I sighed, sitting on the edge of her bed.
"I have a question and I need your answer, but I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable with Alex here plus he doesn't know what I will ask"
I told her, settling her nerves down a bit.
"I've seen Griffin acting very protective over you , yesterday when you fainted. He wanted to tear into pieces his future mate..." I told her. Her eyes big now.
"I can sense your wolf is back. Congratulations " I said , she nodded.
"Can I meet her?"
Her eyes went wider if that's even possible.
"I'm not sure if she's strong enough. . " she said sadly.
"I know it's been a while since you shift. Maybe you can let her go forwards? " I tried to reassure her
"Okey I will try " she said, closing her eyes.
After few seconds I can feel her aura. I can sense her more and I let my wolf to peek. She opens her eyes and I gasp.. her eyes are not yellow or gold they are blue. Like the sky outside.
"Hi, nice to meet you " my wolf said
"Hello gamma. What did you wanted to ask sir " she said with so much respect.
"Need to know two things now, after seeing your eyes .. what colour is your coat little wolf?" I asked
She smiled gently, still looking directly in my eyes .
"White sir, I'm not sure if all of my coat is white I have not shifted for a very long time" she answered with a sadness in her voice.
I nodded
"Are you prince's mate?" I said without hesitation. I needed to know.
Her eyes dropped for the first time.
"Yes" she said "but he mustn't know, you will not tell him" she answered looking back in my eyes. "It's an order, gamma" she added with a stern voice.
And I could feel a wave of power rolling off her and going straight through my body.
I nodded .
She closed her eyes and once she opened them again they were back to her normal gray .
She sighed.
"I knew you will ask about that. . I found out as soon as my wolf was back. You are able to say it to Alex, I don't want any secrets between you two. But you cannot say a word to anyone else, Please" she said looking at me.
I furrowed my brows.
"Luna.. " I said and she shook her head
"No, please just Lia. You will have Luna soon. That title doesn't belong to me" she said. Sadness in her eyes.
I shook my head. Grabbed her hand in mine and lower my head, showing my respect.
" you will always be my Luna. Now that my wolf understands why he was so protective over you, everything finally makes sense. I respect your decision. I will not say a word to anyone but I must express how worry I am. You will be in so much pain ". I said looking at her. Once Griffin marks Claire and mates with her, how is she going to survive this.. my mind was wondering off.
"I can handle it. I know what it's to come. I talked to Jackson and Brian. They were worried too. But I went through so much already I know I can do it. Griffin needs his powers and a strong Luna next to him, someone who can love him and who can give him a happy life" she said.
I opened my mouth to say that he would be happy to find his true mate but Lia shook her head
"Don't . Please don't say anything"
I obliged. I brought her body close to mine and hug her tightly.
