Usually, I wouldn't allow just anyone to take me home, but when it came to Jake, I seemed to just put all my trust in him.

I waited, a little disappointed that he himself, had to go, but regardless, another man - older - came up to me and asked for my name.

When I confirmed that I was the woman he was looking for, he gave a small bow, guiding me over to a luxurious car, parked directly outside of the club.

He opened the back door for me, allowing me to sit inside. I looked inside the car, fully valeted, stars in the ceiling, everything was so sleek and clean.

Damn, that man was definitely so rich.

With that, he began the drive towards my house as I gave him my address.

Surprisingly, I found myself outside of my house, and not, infact, kidnapped and in someone's basement - so that was a plus.

I thanked the chauffeur before heading off to my place, unlocking my door hurriedly since it was a little cold outside - and I was wearing something that didn't provide any warmth.

3:41AM

It would've been nice to sleep well enough considering I came home later than I usually would, however, clearly I just couldn't be left alone.

My phone was ringing beside my desk, and I groaned, putting a pillow over my head and not wanting to get up or wake up fully.

But it continued ringing, and ringing.

Goddamn it, I swear if it's a call about some case I'm not involved with, I'm going to be so mad at Yongpil.

I sat up eventually, looking at whoever was calling me. It was a number I didn't recognise, and I was confused a little as to why some random number was ringing me at three in the fucking morning.

But, with a sigh, I answered, still half asleep and somewhat conscious.

"Hikari speaking." I yawned, my eyes still shut as I lay down, expecting a voice of a scam caller or something like that.

But no, nobody answered, and I thought it was a little strange, why call if you aren't going to reply?

It was silent, and I furrowed my brows, feeling confused.

The call hung up after I spoke, and I just stared at my phone, blinking blankly. What kind of joke was this? I was woken up for the person to just hang up on me and not explain anything?

Man, people really have no respect for someone's sleep.

Regardless, I had a shift at work tomorrow, and I had to delve deeper into the case of Sim Jaeyun, who knew when he'd strike again - but if I was getting barely any sleep, I wouldn't be able to carry this out.

So I ignored it, placing my phone to the side and my head back onto the pillow, surprisingly, falling asleep rather fast.

This time, my alarm woke me up, the usual. And I sat up, changing and hurriedly getting ready, I had a good feeling about today.

With that in mind, I grabbed my car keys, heading straight out of my house and into my car. But before I did, I looked on the roads, a black van parked up on the opposite side of where my car was parked.

It was a little unusual, since I technically knew most of my neighbour's cars off by heart, a random van with fully blacked out windows seemed suspicious to me.

I shrugged it off for the time being, focusing on getting in my car and heading to my workplace. If anything, I'd keep my eye on the van, but right now, it wasn't the biggest concern to me.

I began my car, checking my mirror just incase, but no, the van stayed still, and I just shrugged, driving off and heading my usual route to my workplace.

However, a while after I left my house, driving on the highway, I instinctively checked my mirrors, and out of nowhere, the exact same black van, peered from the side.

It was on the same lane as I was, only a car separating us.

I furrowed my brows, it can't just be a strange coincidence, right? Instead of doubting myself, I decided to test this out, and pulled away from the highway, towards a road I don't usually go down.

But just like that, the van came down too, driving right behind me. I tried not to think too deep into it, but I couldn't help and think that this van was purposefully following me.

I took another spontaneous turn into another, smaller, road - if it comes through here, then it's for definite - someone must be following me.

And what do you know, I turned into the road, and shortly behind me, the exact same black van followed.
