He began driving off, and I made sure to observe out of the window as much as I could. If I could remember the directions to this place, I could track it back and bust another place down.
"You're quite interested in looking outside." Jake snapped me out of my thoughts, and I turned my neck swiftly to look at him.
"I like car rides, just fun to stare out into the window." I leant my head against the window, giving a small sigh.
It was quite dark anyways, so it wasn't like I could seem much, but if I could identify any street names, that would be useful.
And so the drive began, it was rather long, longer than I expected anyways, but by the time we were here, I almost fell asleep.
The one thing that stopped me from completely dazing out, was the fact that Jake was laughing at me quietly, as he parked the car outside the place.
I held my head upright, blinking rapidly as I looked around - damn it Hikari, you dozed off for most of the ride here.
Nonetheless, I got out of the car, observing my surroundings and seeing if there were any monuments or signs or anything of the like around. But no, nothing, it was just this huge palace-like building, and around, trees and darkness.
Jake waited for me, and I linked my arm with his as we made our way up the flight of stairs.
At the entrance, four guards situated before the door, two on the left, two on the right.
Upon seeing Jake, they bowed deeply, a full on ninety-degree angle. And I watched as they did so, not a word spoken at all.
Damn? Who the fuck am I with right now? Should I be bent ninety degrees too?
Discarding those thoughts out of my head, the large doors opened, revealing the grand interior of the place. My eyes lit up, merely seeing the huge, oil paintings that carried status, the golden frames and the huge chandelier hanging from the main room.
Another guy approached us, he eyed me, and then looked at Jake.
"What's good Jae--" Before the guy could finish his words, Jake cleared his throat, "Jake."
The two clasped their hands together, and Jake nodded his head subtly towards the guy.
"Hikari, my plus one for the night." Jake introduced me to his friend, "This is Jay."
Did all of his friends have English names or something?
"Nice to meet you, Hikari." Jay cracked a very small smile, turning his focus back onto Jake, "We'll be waiting for you in the room."
Jake nodded, and with that, Jay left, heading up the grand stairs and disappeared into a corridor.
I looked over at Jake, who just stared down at me. He had sparkles in his eyes for once, and I usually find it cringe trying to compliment people, but he was really cute.
He raised his brows gently, as if he knew I had a question to ask.
"Do you not have Korean names?" I innocently inquired, and he just looked forward, guiding me towards the room that Jay must've walked into.
He gave a low chuckle, and didn't even answer my question, because he opened the door to the room and it completely made me forget that I asked him anything.
There were more than just one guy that he knew, there were a whole six other men, sat in this private room, servants delivering plates full of the most expensive foods and liquors I have probably ever seen in my entire lifetime.
I observed each and everyone's face, just ensuring that at least if it was one of these guys, it'd be all easily identified.
I sat beside Jake, and he placed his hand on my thigh randomly, I pressed my lips together, trying to conceal the conflict internally.
They all had women sat beside them, taking sips and giggling while brushing their fingers against their arm.
I crossed my arms, intently observing everyone as they spoke.
So the boss may be here, somewhere in this building, and he's blonde. I looked over at Jake, thinking for a moment, I'm not sure, I doubt it was him, so that was crossed off immediately.
The rest of them had either black, brown, or silver. So, not any of these as the top boss.
That meant it left me with searching the outside for a little bit, amidst their conversation, I turned to Jake, quietly whispering that I was going to the bathroom for a moment.
He nodded, watching as I left the room.
As soon as I shut the door behind me, I took a deep exhale, jesus, the tension in that room is crazy. I walked around, and noticed the servant that served our room alcohol. I peered around the corner, watching him look around just in case someone was watching him.
He then proceeded to cut open a small bag of powder, pouring it all in the drink the Jake ordered, my heart spiked, he mixed it around, clearing his throat.
I quickly moved away, pretending as if I was just walking back up the stairs.
