→I head my way to the centre of the city, just walking around and clearing my mind for a while. It was peaceful, and at one point, I stopped by a cafe to grab a drink.
I sat down, sipping on it and casually scrolling through my phone.
"Hikari? Is that you??" A familiar voice came from somewhat in front of me. I looked up to who it was, and to my own surprise, it was Jaewook.
He immediately took the seat in front of me, staring at me with awe and joy.
"You're alive, oh my god, Hikari, we've been looking for you." Jaewook revealed, and I just gave a chuckle, observing my surroundings just incase.
"Oh, hey, yeah, alive and well." I gave a nervous laugh as he just stared at me, stars bedazzling his eyes. He stared at me, not cutting his gaze off my face.
"Where have you been? Has Jaeyun done anything to you? Oh my god, Hikari, I missed you so much, I really thought it was over." He seemed relieved, and I'm glad, but I've always had this feeling that Jaewook liked me more than a friend, which I didn't.
"No, no, I've been all good, there's nothing wrong. I'm pretty much free." I didn't want to make it sound like Jake has been holding me hostage in his basement - truthfully - it's better with him.
"Can you come back to the workplace? Hikari, I genuinely.. I don't even know how to say this.." Jaewook seemed out of breath from my random appearance, although, I didn't really want him here right now, the world never really works in my favour anyways.
I turned my head to look outside, just casually, but immediately, my posture was fixed as I noticed a man, stood leant on the car I came with, partially wet hair, staring at his phone.
Goddamn it, he caught me quick.
"Sorry Jaewook, I.. need to go." I stood up abruptly, grabbing my keys and my phone, heading out of the cafe and towards Jake who spontaneously appeared.
He watched as I walked out of the cafe, heading towards him. So, now it was real awkward.
Even worse, as Jaewook ran out behind me, in a frenzy to catch up to me.
Jake was wearing sunglasses, a black, tight t-shirt, and black pants. He glanced over at Jaewook for a moment, before directing his attention to me.
"You have no manners." Jake chuckled, a small smirk reaching his lips.
Jaewook cleared his throat, widening his eyes as he familiarised himself with the man I was talking to.
"Was never brought up to have them." I shrugged with a faint smile. Jaewook still had his eyes fixed on Jake.
"Enjoying freedom?" Jake turned his head to face Jaewook, who had his lips tightly pressed together, still in shock, staring at him.
".. Yes..." Jaewook swallowed hard and Jake gave a small nod, averting his attention back onto me.
"Come on then baby, can't have you around here." Jake definitely purposefully used that nickname on me here, solely to confuse Jaewook. The expression on his face was of bewilderment.
With no more being said, Jake hopped in his car, and I hopped in the one I came with, beginning the drive back towards his place.
I was actually surprised he wasn't emitting fumes out of his ears, he was surprisingly relaxed about me leaving the place with no further words.
The second I parked the car in the garage, Jake stared at me, walking towards the entrance of the house.
"You get more daring day by day, couldn't even ask me if you could take my car keys. Just took them from my room anyways." Jake had a smile on his face as he said so, clearly not mad at me.
"You were in the shower, what? Was I supposed to just walk in and ask you for the car keys?" I rolled my eyes, but his answer took me aback.
"I wouldn't mind."
I shot my head to look at him, he was so nonchalant about this, completely careless, whereas I was fighting inner demons right now.
On top of that, the memories from what I did last night came back to me instantly, making me literally want to hurl over and die.
Breaking the moment, Jay ran up to us quickly, holding an open envelope with a letter. His face meant no good.
"Jake, look at this." He handed the letter over, and from what I could read, it was a letter from one of his closest guards.
Jake poked his tongue through his cheek, crumbling the paper in his hand as he walked off, not even walked off, stormed off somewhere.
I took a deep breath in, damn, something bad just had to happen - didn't it?
