sorry for the time skip i realised ive been dragging this on HELP

A FEW WEEKS LATER

Now that I've lived with Jake for longer than a month, I've came quick to realise that actually - it was a blessing in disguise.

Never have I ever been as spoilt, as cared for, or had such exciting experiences since being here.

I was sat on the kitchen countertop, scrolling through my phone mindlessly. I had this feeling that Jaewook and my old workplace would try and track me back down, and try take me back soon enough.

I had to be wary of my every move really, I couldn't contact Jaewook, nor any of my colleagues from my old workplace. And to be honest, I didn't really want to leave, so.

Jake walked into the kitchen, looking at me as I was just sat there, giving a sigh.

"What's up with you?" He gave a light smile, unlike his initial presentation of when we first met, Jake had clearly warmed up to me and even - somehow - managed to give genuine smiles around me.

I put my phone on the side of the counter, crossing my arms and staring at him as he effortlessly looked so good in the morning, he had his back turned to face me, preparing some ingredients for whatever he was making.

The small tattoo on the nape of his neck somehow managed to force a smile out of me. I don't know why, but he just looked so good.

"Do you actually think that Yongpil won't strike again? He's lost his best agent." I asked him, purely out of curiousity.

Jake stopped chopping the stuff on the board, and he spun around, looking at me with a priceless expression on his face, however, despite his sweet expression, the way he was still holding the knife was pretty daunting.

He observed my face briefly.

"Finders keepers. Let him try, I can't wait to see him." Jake gave a small laugh, placing the knife on the counter and leaning on it, gazing into my eyes as I did too.

"You aren't scared?" I raised a brow, wondering since when he became so trustworthy with me.

"What exactly am I supposed to be scared of?" Jake stood closer to me, looking down at me with that devilish look in his eyes.

I gave a light chuckle, cutting off the eye contact for a moment to very quickly, collect myself.

"I don't know, what if I betray you?" I looked back up at him, folding my arms as a smirk formed onto his lips.

He leant down slightly, placing both his hands on my face and staring straight into my eyes. His eyes dazzled, and honestly, my heart was running laps.

"You want to know why I know you won't betray me?" Jake's voice became low, with a slight tinge of rasp.

My eyes shift to his full lips, then back to his eyes as he gave a brief chuckle.

Without more words being said, he pulled in for a kiss, and subconsciously my lips moved in time with his, then I just realised - I'm so fucked, aren't I?

He pulled away, turning back around and cutting whatever he was doing before, as if nothing just happened. I swallowed hard, but I had no time to collect my thoughts til his friends walked in.

"Oh, you two are up, what's good?" Jay came in first, followed by the rest of them, damn, did they all just decide to all collectively wake up at the same time?

"Guys look our husband is cooking us breakfast right now. What a gentleman." Sunghoon joked, immediately making his presence known through lightening the atmosphere.

Jake spun around, holding the knife in his hand and giving such a cute smile.

"Don't worry Sunghoon, I'll make sure yours is extra nice." He threw Sunghoon a wink, and in that moment, my lips slightly parted.

On second thought, maybe this guy was actually gay.

The room was filled with laughs and jokes throughout the next good few minutes, it was nice to separate from the heinous crimes and things I had to do. In a way, this house kind of felt like the only family I had.

Sure, we were all more or less the same age, but honestly, I couldn't really imagine returning back to my normal life without them.

"What's the job today?" Jungwon asked, the food was made, and we were all just sat around the kitchen, eating and talking.

"Nothing, I don't think anyways. We don't have anything to do really." Jake responded, and I suppose it was just a free day today, which was always good.

The guys all looked at each other with some eager grins, clearly communicating something I did not know.

"You know what that means, let's stock up on alcohol." Heeseung hopped off the counter, sitting right beside me now.

I turned my head to look at him, my brows raising slightly.

"You joining us Hikari?" Heeseung put his arm around my shoulder, waiting for a response.

But Jake wasn't amused, and instead, with a single signal of his hand, he waft to Heeseung to take his arm off me.

Heeseung did so, pressing his lips together to stop a smile from leaving his lips as he looked over at Jake for a moment.
