"But I don't think there should be a problem. The threat is gone." Aniruddh spoke.

"What? Seriously?" I was surprised, definitely not pleasantly.

"Well, the case is indeed closed. So it is safe to say that for now, it's not as dangerous." Agastya added to the affirmation.

Why?

For the first time in my life I hated being on the safer side!

Dangerous was the new safe for me. At least I gotta stay close to Agastya–

Megha!

No, but that was always destined, right? One day I will have to leave. The whole point of this marriage was that!

I went into the kitchen to get Aniruddh his coffee. I needed some peace to think.

Why am I so scared to leave? What changed?

"As if you don't know what changed?" I whispered to myself.

Whatever is happening between me and Agastya can't be lov-

No, no, it's mutual respect, understanding.

Yeah, right! People with mutual understanding don't go on making out like horny teenagers!

"Physical attraction?" I bit my lower lip.

No, but I have been around many men, who liked me, whom I liked, but I never had such a strong urge to stay near them or this 'I would be an absolute mess without him' feeling around anyone! I bit my nails.

"Such a baby you are!" Sid pulled out my finger. I was embarrassed. "Let me make the coffee, you will spoil it." He said, taking that mug from my hand.

"No–"

"Megha, you should see your face in the mirror, it's literally pale yellow." He spoke. I opened my mouth to say something.

"Nope. It's between you two. I am not going to be your mediator this time. I am not even going to give you any perspective." He poured some hot water. I looked down.

Why does he have to behave all elderly when I need him as a friend the most?

"Also, just one thing, be honest!" He interrupted as I was about to leave. "To yourself." He added.

"When will you get to know about your posting?" Agastya asked, peeking out of his book while I was looking for my academic books in the drawer. I was thinking about giving them away, since they were of no use. People who really need them can take them.

"In a few days, I guess." Tying my hair with a pin, I replied.

Within seconds my hair was down again! Agastya quietly put the pin away, hiding it from me.
