"Megha, come join us at the bonfire."

I was talking to Agastya on the phone when Varun came to invite me.

I cut the call and walked to the garden area. Even after eleven hours of bus ride, the kids were super charged and energetic about it all.

I want to be a kid again. No exhaustion, no emotion, no stress, just 'yaaay' to everything.

"Ma'am, let's play a game or something" One of the kids suggested.

It was already cold, the bonfire wasn't helping much. All I wanted to do was to go to my room, under my thick duvet, and sleep.

As if without Agastya, that's possible!

What?

"Megha?"

A little tap on my shoulder brought me back to the real world. It was Varun.

"Yeah?"

"The kids are suggesting something." He said, inching closer.

"What do you all wanna play?" I asked as I got up from my place, faking my excitement for their sake.

"Can we play dog's bone?"

"Make the teams." I announced.

"Girls vs Boys?" A kid suggested.

"How about a mixed team?" Varun asked.

"Yeah, one of Megha ma'am and the other one of Varun sir."

"No, no. I will call the numbers. And Varun sir will be the judge. We have to make sure you guys don't cheat."

They all laughed and giggled and the shenanigans of the bonfire continued. After five rounds, I had a desperate need to go away from all of them.

I don't know why I was getting so restless!

The alarm finally rang and we made sure each group went back to the rooms allotted. It got quite late in doing that. We don't need male teachers for handling students, we need extra teachers for handling three classes of students.

"Hey, Megha, do you wanna sit and..." Varun stopped me midway as I was going to my room. "I mean, the night is young, the moon is bright, let's sit and talk?" He said.

We really started on a wrong foot and this was the moment to fix it, but he wasn't my friend or anything that I needed to fix it. Plus, I really wanna talk to Agastya before he goes to sleep. Considering his punctuality, I am sure he would be sound asleep by now.

"It has been a long day, Varun. I wanna call it a day. Sorry. But tomorrow?"

"Sure. Bye, good night."

"Night!"

"Why are you calling me late at night?" Ishika asked, her voice groggy.
