Agastya.
The way she said my name still lingered in my head, not letting me rest at all. She sounded...scared.
It's amusing. It was the wars and fights that agonized me so much, but then I guess life is enough to haunt a human.
My Sid must be suffering too.
It was hard for me, but it must be more difficult for him. He was literally a kid. He was confused about what to do, how to be around the new people. I could have taken a stand, and taken him with me to the boarding school. It would have been weird, but at least he would have known I am with him.
Fuck it.
We were still away from the base camp. I called him. The ring went on, but he didn't answer.
He must be busy.
I called again, it went unattended.
They are both catching on to the same habits.
I don't have a good feeling about this.
We reached there and they told me to finish the formalities quickly because our men were still on the field, waiting for further spontaneous orders.
God, I know you are somewhere out there. Take care of my brother and my wife.

I had lost track of time. I didn't know how many days I had already spent here. There was almost no time to sleep. But I made sure my troop managed to sleep here and there for a couple of hours. I tried too, but my tent was away from the rest, and for the first time, the risk wasn't worth it.
I couldn't ask any of them to lend me their bed for a couple of hours merely because of personal anonymity. We were doing better though. The main purpose of the mission was accomplished, the enemies were far away from our territory. They mostly seemed Chinese, could be the Talibans too. I wasn't sure. I should be home soon.
"Jai Hind, sir!" A soldier approached me.
"Jai Hind!"
"They want to talk to you." He turned around so I could get the telephone on his back. I gestured for him to sit down so the weight doesn't feel too much to him.
"Team Sigma reporting, sir."
"Major Rai. You should head back to the base camp with your unit. They have spent quite some days on the field. Team Delta and Zhi will cover more of the territory. Jai Hind."
"Jai Hind!"
They were all very happy with the news. It took us roughly twelve hours of trekking and then another night to reach the base camp. I accessed my stuff and found nearly fifty calls from Megha and Sid. There was one from Aniruddh too.
