"Did you find it?" Sid asked for the nth time. He had lost a paper in which he had written his recent client's floral requirements.
"No Sid! You sure you haven't kept it in your office?"
"No! Agastya checked. I asked him to check because your husband has completely taken over my nursery today. He doesn't even let me enter. So he checked it for me. It's not there. Can you check in your room?" He huffed in annoyance.
"Why would it be in my room?"
"I don't know. Might've mixed up with some of Agastya's books or files or your academic books."
"Sid, you do know that I have handed them over. Can't you call your client and ask for the specifications again?" We were literally screaming through the house.
"No! The event is the day after tomorrow. Can't."
"Fine! Then let me check in my room. Keep your fingers crossed! And next time--"
"I'll take better care of it but please right now..." He said re-opening the drawers he had already checked.
"Okay, okay!"
I was checking in our room when I got hold of the book in which Agastya kept the flower. I don't know what he was so scared about? Why was he so restless or worried? There is nothing that could make me go away.
Keeping the book back, I opened another drawer. There was the envelope I received a few days back from the post. It was addressed to me.
"Bhabhi, I found it." Sid screamed from the living room. "I am going to meet the vendors. Thanks. Bye." He said everything in one breath.
"Yeah, bye!"
My attention went back to the envelope I found. There was a logo of the Indian Army on the upper left corner.
Indian Army addressing me?
Was this something Agastya was worried about all along?
I opened it in a haste.
"A cheque?" I whispered to myself. "That too of twenty-five fucking lakhs!"
I-
Why am I-? On what basis?
"Could be Army Welfare or Insurance. No, but then it should be addressed to Agastya!"
Or compensation!
No but that is given after the de-
Megha!
I was about to call Agastya but I received a call from Vraj sir instead.
"Hello?" I was zoned out.
"Megha, Hi! Good morning. There's one book missing in the books that you handed over yesterday."
