"What we have is so beautiful and genuine to lose it over one silly mistake."

"I am not about grand gestures but..." Agastya then went on his knees.

HE WENT ON HIS FUCKING KNEES TO APOLOGISE!

I didn't know whether I should call myself the luckiest or the stupidest person on the earth.

People make mistakes, they are flawed, relationships are flawed, that's what makes all of us humans, real, right?

"Come on, Megha! You are angry with me, with us. Why are you punishing that poor guy for our mistakes? We left you. But he is still there."

It was my mother or father, I could see their faces but couldn't figure out the voice.

"You know the last time you were so angry and we went out, you didn't get to see us after that, EVER!" This time it was my mom. "Things could happen that way again. Agastya may not come–"

I woke up with such a strong jerk that I hit my head on the headboard. I was sweating. My eyes were filled with tears too.

It was a dream.

"Yeah, but I didn't say goodbye to Agastya, either." I said to myself. "I was so busy being angry that I couldn't use those words again."

Things could happen that way again!

"Megha, are you okay in there?" It was Sid knocking on the door.

I looked around. I was in Agastya's bedroom. His pillow was on my lap. After Agastya left, Ishika and Sid convinced me to stay back here. I thought it would be uncomfortable to be here, surrounded by the memories. But as it turns out, it is way more peaceful here, like I could actually breathe.

"Yeah! Just... nothing." I got up, adjusted my t-shirt and walked out of the room.

The clock in the living room showed nine in the morning.

"Any news of Agastya?" I asked directly. Two heads, four eyes turned in my direction curiously.

It has been two weeks since he left. The news showed the situation was tense and many soldiers have lost their lives. Agastya could hardly make any contact with us. My heart was beating faster with each passing day, so much so that Ishika really had to give me sleeping pills to get me to sleep.

"Not yet." Sid shrugged.

"How can you be so relaxed?" Irritation was clear in my voice.

"Tea!" Ishika offered me a cup.

"I don't want tea. I want some news."

"Bhabhi, Bhai is fine. I am not relaxed but I keep telling myself that he is fine and is going to come back soon. That's what keeps me going. Panicking and shouting at younger ones like this won't bring him back sooner."
