There was a knock at the door

There was a knock at the door. My brain wasn't really functioning. It was on auto-pilot, doing what was the need of the time.

But we have to clear this out. She still doesn't trust me.

It will work out.

It was Aniruddh. In uniform.

I hope things are okay.

"Rai, things are not at all okay. You would have to come with me. Right now." He sighed. I heard a gasp as well.

He looked at Megha, and then at me.

"Are you guys okay?" He cleared his throat.

"Give me five."

I went to the other room where some of my stuff was kept. I walked out, and I spotted Megha.

Damn! I just cannot see anything else after I get involved with work.

Aniruddh was not there. I dropped my bag near the door and went to her. She was sitting on the sofa, her eyes were still red. I sat on the floor in front of her.

"Take care, Megha." I held her face in my hands.

I had so much to say...

Tell her when you get back.

That's the fucking thing! I don't have a good feeling about this.

"Call Sid or Ishika here to be with you, yeah?"

Her hands reached out to me.

"Please take care." Her voice cracked. She kept looking at me with glazing eyes. It was as if she was telling me not to go.

"I will be back soon. Don't worry." I kissed her forehead. Tears rolled down her eyes. I quickly wiped them away.

"Come on! You know you are stronger than that."

She chuckled and shook her head.

I didn't want to, not when things got so abrupt, but I kissed her. She sighed in relief.

We both heard a series of honks. I pulled away and rested my head against hers.

Agastya!

This is for the last time, come on!

"Be back soon, okay? Take care." She sniffled as she pulled away to look at me. I smiled at her. She smiled too.

Finally!

Fuck! I love her so much.

Say it!

SAY IT!

"You too." I stood up and went out.

I could not figure out what I was feeling. It was useless, especially when I had to go. But I couldn't ignore this sinking feeling in my stomach.
