It has been all flowery since I got back.

It could be too early to say that as it was just the second day, but yeah. Every freaking moment should count.

I was looking through the archives when I got a text. It was Megha.

Wow! I could get used to this.

In the text, she asked me to be at Sid's nursery by seven in the evening.

His nursery?

I asked her if everything was okay, she said yes and told me not to be late. It was barely three-thirty, still an hour or so to go, but I decided it was time to head home.

"You see, this is how people use seniority to get away from important work."

It was Reyank.

I guess Aniruddh heard him too as he was walking towards me out of nowhere.

"I swear I could cut off his balls and then feed them to him." I shook my head.

"Woah! Easy there, major. Do you seriously mean it?" Ani kept a hand on my shoulder.

Honestly, no. Why bother over stupid assholes?

"Whatever. But tell him to keep it shut. It won't be good for him." I scoffed.

"By the way, her cheque is here–"

"What cheque?"

"Megha's compensation. Biren..." HE trailed off.

Will this ever stop haunting me?

"I am not going to give it to her. Send someone else. That too when I am here, please."

I don't have it in me to face that fact repeatedly. My own fucking mind has done enough. It does enough.

Don't ruin the good spirits. You have to go see her.

Roger!

I wore the shirt Sid gifted me sometime ago. I couldn't figure out why I was wearing new stuff and putting in some effort.

Take the ring too. You forgot it yesterday as well.

I took the small box and looked at the ring again. It was beautiful. She would like it, yes.

"You look good, bhai. Going on a date?" Sid chipped in from somewhere. "Oh! It's that perfume from Dubai, yes? You still have it?"

"I opened it today. Never really had the chance to use it, you know." I shrugged.

"So, where are you taking my bhabhi?" He egged me with his shoulder.

"Megha? No, Amara called me." I tried very hard to keep a straight face.
