I was running.

I was on a sprint as if my fucking life depended on it.

Then, out of nowhere, Biren appeared with a small bowl in his hand. In the bowl was vanilla ice cream with coffee sprinkled over it.

"If you wanted my daughter, you could have just told me. Why did you kill me?"

Blood poured out of his mouth and he fell to the ground.

"Agastya?"

It was my Megh.

"I won't stay with a murderer." And she ran away from me.

"NO!"

I woke up with a jolt. Despite the super fast fan working over my head, I was sweating heavily.

"I just don't get it." Megha mumbled lightly as her hand reached out to me. I gave in immediately.

"What?"

Her fingers tangled in my hair while her other hand was on my chest, right above my heart.

"What triggers your nightmares?" She sighed.

"The distance between you and me." I pulled her closer to me. She smiled.

"I am right here, come on." She then rested her head on my shoulder. I held her closer still.

"But my destiny, it always takes away my dearest ones." For once in my life, I was letting it all go. "My parents, your brother, Dhillon sir. And then I just stopped."

"But Aniruddh is there, Sid has always been there for you." Her grip on me tightened.

"Ani is opting for a transfer so he can be promoted. Sid takes me as a responsibility. Something he has to deal with out of, I don't know, guilt?"

"And where am I going?" She made me look at her.

I don't know. But I am just so fucking scared to lose you.

I could have just cried right there and then.

"God! Agastya!" She whined, her voice breaking a bit. "What are you hiding?" She rested her forehead on mine.

"I will tell you everything tomorrow." I kissed her forehead.

"So we have rescheduled our date?" She had this small smile on her face as she looked at me. She is just so fucking beautiful. The dim light perfectly highlighted her features.

"No no. Day after tomorrow it is. Sorry. Now get some sleep, your schedule is tight tomorrow."

"Yeah! Like I am going to sleep now." She scoffed.

"I can sing you a lullaby. Or you can call Ishika." I had to lighten it up a bit. "Or some paid wine or champagne. Whatever you think will help you."

She shot me a look, but then her cheeks flushed a bit.
