"They're ready for you" A nurse told Connor knocking lightly on his door. That night had been awful. Both Mrs Johnson and Harry had spent the night with him. Harry sleeping on the floor whilst Mrs Johnson slept on the hard hospital chair. Nurses routinely kept coming in and doing checks on him. Taking blood and other general observations.

Connor stood up exchanging a quick glance with Harry before leading the way out of the room. Mrs Johnson followed him whispering something Connor didn't hear to his older brother.

They followed the nurse down the over-lit corridor until they reached a small meeting room. The nurse knocked on the door then opened it leading the pair inside.

Inside the room was a big, circular table. Sat around that table were various stern looking faces all with big notepads, laptops and lanyards hung around their necks. These were the top dogs it seemed.

The man at the head of the table, presumably Doctor Simon Mercury looked severe. His hair was grey and combed to perfection, unlike Connors. He wore a pair of bold black glasses which screamed authority. Connor then noticed Debbie sat beside him, she offered a small smile as Connor and Mrs Johnson took a seat.

"I'm sure we all know why we're here, but just to catch everyone up these are the details" Simon started glancing around the table at everyone ensuring no one had any questions before he begun.

"Connor Johnson is the patient in question, he is 16 years old. Male, and 5'7 in height, his current weight is 106.9 pounds, so that's 7.6 stone or 45.8 kilograms, which means he is dangerously underweight. He was admitted yesterday morning after being found unconscious and unresponsive on the sidewalk by a member of the public. He has disclosed his diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, his mother has also stated he has a complex anxiety disorder and episodic depression. He has never engaged in suicidal activities or self harming methods. He does not smoke, use illegal drugs or drink alcohol as far as we are aware, he is prescribed antidepressants and takes one each morning on a high dosage. There is no known intent to stockpile or misuse"

Simon was then interrupted by a small cough from Debbie. All heads turned to her as she spoke up. "Sorry to interrupt you there Simon, but I have something to add, Connor does not take his antidepressants. He has disclosed to me he bins them rather than taking them" Debbie explained casually.

Connor gave her a small scowl as the professionals in the room noted this down.

"Debbie, may you please explain how your therapies and treatment are going with Connor?" Simon requested leaning back.

Debbie nodded picking up a file and opening it then beginning to read. "So, me and Connor have been having sessions for a few months now. I quickly diagnosed him with anorexia, he was already diagnosed with complex anxiety and episodic depression when he came to me. Over our time together we have worked on many different strategies to try and increase Connors weight. Meal plans don't work for him due to his anxiety, if he missed anything from them it would cause him to have a panic attack. He has refused to remove the batteries from his scale and when his family have previously done so he has replaced them himself. He has also bought new scales when the original ones were hidden away"

This part made Connor smile slightly. Nothing his family had done could stop him from getting his hands on scales. He'd always know his weight. It was necessary for his end goals.

"His goal is to be 30kg in his own words" Debbie continued scanning her notes professionally. "He has disclosed to me previously he would rather be dead than obese.

"Noted" Simon responded. "Thank you Debbie"

"Okay, let's move onto your general doctor. He couldn't be here today unfortunately so Doctor Edwards who has experience in the field shall read his notes" Simon explained nodding towards a stern looking man in scrubs.
