Following his intimate encounter with Liam, Connor kept to himself the rest of that day. He briefly played a game of cards with Alex and was thoroughly thrashed by the blonde, he made sure to keep out of Owen's way but still received dirty looks from the boy during meals. As if that time of the day wasn't already stressful enough for him.
The next day was no different, throughout the entirety of breakfast and lunch Owen still shot him nasty glances from across the table, meanwhile Riccardo kept up his quiet reassurance which helped Connor out massively.
Rest that day was the first time all 5 boys had been properly together in the same room without it being a meal time, usually 1 or 2 of them was absent, and often Owen was one of the absentees, but today everyone was sat around on the couches.
"It's too hot" Alex complained wiping the sweat from his forehead in frustration.
"It was literally raining yesterday, now it's boiling" Riccardo commented glancing out the window at the clear blue sky, the sun was shining down sending it's warm rays into every little crevasse of the troubled boys home.
"Quit complaining, this isn't as bad as I had it" Owen noted. "When I went on holiday to Jamaica, my dad made me sit for hours in the sun even if I burnt, that's what's really too hot" he told them.
Alex flinched glancing at the ground at the mention of Owen's abusive dad.
"But obviously I got through it, cause I'm not a weak, easy little boy like other guys are" Owen continued glancing at Connor as he said that, Connors eyes widened but he didn't say anything. He hated causing a scene so was scared into silence. This remark most likely also felt like a dagger through Alex's heart. His parents had put him through hell and back. He didn't need Owen calling him weak when in reality he was strong enough to survive it.
Owen glanced at Alex who was next to him rolling his eyes before continuing his tirade of how amazing he was. "If my dad beat me I'd get back at him in little ways, putting salt in his coffees, hiding his important work documents, that kind of thing"
"Owen no one actually gives a shit" Liam stonily interrupted him narrowing his eyes at the tall blonde.
"That's your problem not mine juvey boy" Owen snapped back making Liam scowl even more at him.
"I never went to juvey" He hissed clearly not happy that Owen knew about it.
"According to your case file you did. I had a good browse of all of your files the other day. Very interesting reads I must say" Owen replied nonchalantly.
"Go fuck your self" Liam whispered hostility lacing his every word.
"Funny guy Alex would love that, wouldn't you gay boy? Or are you still getting over being rejected by mommy and daddy?" Owen cooed, Liam stood up angrily as Alex's eyes widened.
"I- I-" Alex started clearly wanting to diffuse the tense situation with a joke to distract from that revelation but not being able to think of one.
"Want to say that again?" Liam growled staring Owen down menacingly. Connor had never seen Liam this mad before. Steam might as well have been pumping out of his ears.
Owen turned to Liam with a smirk. "Would Chloe be proud of you? Threatening a boy who's already been abused his whole life? I don't think she would be, and I'll tell you another thing-" Owen said nastily but before he could continue Liam jumped into action pouncing on the blonde, Liam landed a quick and easy punch to the boys chest.
Owen pushed back sending Liam toppling to the floor with a crash, Owen then leapt up dashing away, Liam scrambled hurriedly up ignoring the others boys and giving chase. Connor jumped up as well following Liam, he couldn't have Liam destroy his chances at recovery because of vile remarks made by Owen, a boy they'd just met.
