Around them, there were slumpy figures walking, not realizing that their food was right amongst them.

It was nerve wrecking, to say the least. Aelia had to hold herself back from doing anything stupid. She was helping the woman she had found walk, the both of them now covered in literal guts and blood.

She stopped, letting out a shaky breath as one of the walkers turned to them. It wavered there for a moment, but then turned away again. She was tense, but continued going.

There were at least 70 walkers or so, she had never seen so many in one place. It worried her. What if these would find their way back to the farm? What about Sophia? There was no way that she made it with all those things around here.

But she kept on going, because she had a life in her hands. She needed to get the woman safe.

They were slowly getting out of the group of undead, leaving them just behind them. There were woods visible, stones and a small cliff.

Aelia gazed along their surroundings, trying to make a plan to get the hell out. But just then, the woman tripped.

She fell, grunting and whining and her injured leg hit the ground. But that pulled the attention of the walkers. They started coming towards them, dangerously close now.

Aelia gasped, terror filling her eyes. She helped the woman up, both of them hastily running the best they could.

„Come on! Come on!" She ushered Aelia towards the cliff.

Just then, Aelia dodged one of the cold hands grabbing her, running even faster. She got to the stones, starting to try and climb. She was too nervous tho, not being able to find a place to get her foot.

„Help!" She sobbed out, her eyes glassy. She didn't want to die!

The woman arrived behind her, picking her up. She lifted Aelia up the cliff, letting her climb upwards.

„Here, come on. Up you go."

Aelia pulled herself up, wrapping her legs around a tree, laying on the ground and reaching her hand down towards the woman.

„Come on! You're nearly there!" She motivated her new friend. The woman grabbed her hand, a pained look on her face. She looked downwards, the undead all slamming themselves against the stone, trying to get a grip at her legs. But then, the pain in her leg intensified as the wound touched the cold stone, and the leg buckled together. Their hands parted, the woman loosing balance.

„No!"

She fell, right into the walkers. Screams and sobbing filled Aelia's ears.

Her friend being eaten alive.

Aelia let out a loud sob, staring down at the monsters, ripping the woman open and pulling out her flesh and organs. Tears streamed down her face and she was frozen, she couldn't move.

That was until she heard the gunshots.

She jolted up, looking around. That's when the gunshots continued. These were from the farm!

The walkers also were interested in the shots, but weren't able to get past that cliff anyway. They couldn't climb, after all.

So Aelia stood up, getting her gun out of her pants at her back. And then she ran.

Everyone had stopped shooting, none of the walkers moving anymore. Daryl was about to lower his gun, but the the door creaked open again.

Everyone readied their guns, waiting for the walker to get outside. But everyone stopped. A small body came outside, growling, ripped clothes and pale skin.

Carol let out a shocked sob. Sophia..

„Sophia? Sophia!"

She slowly walked closer, the small walker growling.

„Oh no. Sophia." The mother cried. „Sophia... No!"

Daryl ran up to Carol, grabbing her and hugging her from behind. „Don't watch.. don't watch.."

Aelia was running, hearing screams and sobs. Terror crossed her face as she saw the trees end.

Daryl was still hugging Carol, nobody daring to shoot Sophia.

Aelia cried, still shaken from seeing a human get eaten. „Daryl! T-Dog! Rick!" She tried to call for them, running out of the woods, onto the field near the barn.

Daryl heard a female voice calling him, but only barely because of carols crying. He turned his head around, seeing Aelia...

Aelia's eyes widened, and she started to stop. Another swell of sorrow overcame her. „Sophia!" She saw the walker form of her friend, slowly nearing the rest of the group.

Daryl's eyes widened. Aelia was there. She was alive. But her white hair was partly colored red. Her face, her clothes, her hair. All covered in sticky blood. And she was sobbing.

Aelia saw Rick pulling out his gun, no one was saying anything audible for her. She stood there, in the field, blood tripping down her body.

Then, she met Daryl's gaze. And Daryl found her green eyes.

Bang.

Sophia fell to the ground, Carol let out a loud sob, and Aelia flinched, tears running down her face.

T-Dog started to notice the girl as well, running towards the field. He hurried towards her, grabbing Aelia in his arms.

„I can't believe that you went out there on your own!" Daryl yelled, Aelia before him.

The girl was clean again, no more blood or guts on her. Her hair was brushed and pulled back in a pony tail, Maggie having helped her. But she had acted strangely sad while doing so, probably because of the barn thing. Aelia also had gotten new clothes, the old ones tossed in the trash, only the boots getting washed.

„You coulda died out there! What were ya thinkin'?! Didn't you think one missing girl was enough? You promised you wouldn't run away again!"

Aelia flinched, narrowing her eyes. „I didn't run away! I didn't! I wanted to help!"

„By gettin' yourself killed?!" Daryl looked down at her, angrily. She had run away. She had went out there, alone. And she had gotten herself involved with some stranger. The girl was almost looking for death!

„I- I just couldn't stand by!" She felt tears welling up in her eyes. Pictures of Mika, Lilly, Sophia and that woman coming up in her head. „I didn't want to loose another friend!"

Daryl stared at her. Not saying anything. He was still mad, but her words struck a cord in him. He turned away, going back to his tent while not saying a word.
