Tess, Londyn, Mariah, and Zoriah were all bustling in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner. Meanwhile, outside, the kids, Amari and Yasmine, were joyfully splashing in the pool, their laughter echoing through the backyard. Amber, Quincy, and Quinn kept a watchful eye on them, ensuring their safety.
Yasmine decided to take a break from the pool and ventured back inside. As she entered the kitchen, she spotted Tess tending to the marinated Turkey, London handling the Ham, and Zoriah mixing the Mac and Cheese in a large pot. Grabbing a bottle of water, she realized she hadn't seen her sister all day.
"Tess?" Yasmine called, deftly removing the bottle capsule. Tess humming in acknowledgment. "Where's Yan?"
"Uh, I honestly don't know. I thought she was with y'all by the pool," Tess replied, finally meeting Yasmine's gaze. "I left her in the room this morning."
"I'm gonna go check if she's in her room," Yasmine declared.
"Alright, let me know," Tess responded as Yasmine left the kitchen.
"How old is she?" London suddenly inquired.
"Nineteen, I think," Tess answered.
"She looks so much like Yanelie, they could be twins if she was a bit taller," Londyn remarked. "How far apart are they?"
"Three years," Tess confirmed.
"Yanelie's twenty-two?" Zoriah chimed in, clearly surprised.
"Yeah," Tess replied casually as she washed her hands in the kitchen sink. "Is there an issue?" She turned to face Zoriah.
"No," Zoriah replied.
"Eight years," Londyn voiced.
"What?" Tess quickly asked, her tone slightly defensive.
"That's a big ass age gap," she boldly responded, her eyes narrowing slightly.
"Okay?" Tess responded, raising a brow, her expression a blend of confusion and defiance.
"I'm just saying, you were eight when she was born, and you were in high school while she was in what? The third grade?" Londyn continued.
"I didn't ask you ta voice ya opinion so why you talking?" Tess questioned, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice as she shot Londyn a sharp look.
"I'm not saying that ta offend you or nun. It's just that you changed so much, you'd usually go after nigga's baby mamas and shit. Now you fucking with a whole ass stud and she's twenty-two, I barely recognize you," Londyn explained.
"The last time you saw me I was nineteen, now I'm thirty," Tess reminded her, her voice carrying a note of resignation. "Time's changes, people changes, so did I."
Meanwhile, Yanelie lay in bed under the bed sheets, unable to shake the video from her mind. The image of London on her girlfriend while they swallowed each other's faces replayed incessantly, causing turmoil within her.
She grappled with the dilemma of whether to confront Tess or pretend she hadn't seen the video, though it consumed her thoughts. The existence of the video raised questions for Yanelie – if Tess and Londyn were just friends as Tess claimed, why did such a video exist, and why did Londyn send it knowing Tess was in a relationship?
As she dwelled on these thoughts, memories of how her relationship with Tess had started from just friends till they started having sex flooded her mind. The parallels between her own journey with Tess and the situation with Londyn left Yanelie contemplating the possibilities.
