Lucy

'I thought I killed you.' He says, stepping closer to me. I reach for my gun, without lifting my gaze from him. He gets uglier every time I see him.

'If you come even an inch closer I'll fire.'

'Oh I have no doubts. Smart and hot. I like it.'

I grip my gun even tighter as I aim it at his neck.

'You're not the only one with a gun though!' He yells as he pulls out his gun and fires.

'Lucy! What's going on down there?' I hear Harper yell through the wire. There's no time to respond though.

I manage to duck down and roll under the bed. At least I've got a bit of shelter down here.

'Smart move Lucy. Smart move.' He's slowly stepping closer.

No matter where I place it or how I angle my Gun, I just can't seem to get a clear shot. Damn it.

'LUCY?' This time it's Tim.

'I have backup on it's way as we speak. If you have a brain of any sort, the smartest thing to do is run. You're not getting out of this any other way.'

I push a box slightly to the left, just enough for me to see through. I'm out of options. There's nothing I can do.

'Well, your backups taking long isn't it? If it's even real that is. I guess I have time to do what I came to do. Come on out Lucy.'

'You wish. I won't do what you say.'

I can't come out. He'll kill me as soon as he sees me.

'What are you waiting for Lucy? I just want to have a bit of fun.'

'Define fun. Last time you had fun didn't end well did it?'

'Yeah, well, this time will be different.'

'Sure. How'd you get past the officers though?'

'Oh, it was easy. Just head to the bathroom next to the cafeteria. They can't resist the coffee!'

Here I was thinking he was smart.

'Honestly Lucy, I don't know how they got hired. Hardly smart, unlike you.'

'Stop it with the false flattery. I know why you're here.'

'Oh really? Why. I herr then?'

'To kill me.'

'Good detective.' The next sounds is a continuation of shots fired around the room, one skimming the side of my arm, chipping my skin.

'LUCY? WHAT'S HAPPENING?' I hear again.

I have to get out of here.

I scan the room around me. Theres just my wheelchair, and a few boxes.

Wait.

My wheelchair. If I hit it at the right angle, it would run straight into him, then I could make a break for it. It's my only option.

'LUCY? WE'RE COMING DOWN TO YOU!'

I rip the IV and the other machine lines out of my arm, I can't have them slow me down.

'Come on Lucy.'

'Fine. I'll come out.'

'Good girl.'

I push one of the boxes out from under the bed, just enough so it covers the area between the wheelchair and the bed. Just enough so that he can't see what I'm doing with my leg.
