Nell
'911 what's your emergency?'
'I.. I think I heard a gunshot'
'Okay, Ma'am what's the address?'
'Okay.. ehm I live in apartment 195 *Lucy's building address* but I think the gunshot came from 201.. i think that's the cops house..'
'Alright, I'm sending units to your location. What's your name ma'am?'
'Sandra Castillo!'
I could tell over the phone that Sandra began hyperventilating.
'Sorry dispatcher I'm just scared.. what if she's dead'
'That's alright Sandra, call me Nell. We will do what we can! Do you know the cops name?'
'Uh..uh I think its Lucy! Yeah its Lucy Chen!'
I feel my heart drop as my face turns to a grave expression. It was Lucy's apartment.
'Ok Sandra, thank you. Officers should be arriving now.'
'Yeah, they're already upstairs.'
'Okay, thank you Sandra, some officers will speak to you soon. You can hang up now' Nell finished.
'Thank you Nell. I hope everything's okay.'
'Me too Sandra, me too.'
Sandra ends the call so I turn to my radio.
I switch it to channel 9 (the channel the cops at Lucy's building were using) and start to listen in.'We are at the location but there is no sign of Detective Chen.' I hear a cop say over the radio.
I just sit there, worry painted over my face as my leg bops up and down. The radio just stays silent.
She better be okay.
'There are evident traces of blood around the house, the orientation signifying that there was indeed a gunshot. On-site detectives are currently determining who's blood it is.'
My breathing quickens as they confirm the gunshot. Sandra heard right.
We get plenty of false reports through 911 calls. Why couldn't this be one of them?
The radio stays silent for another few minutes until the same cop speaks again.
'The blood belongs to Detective Lucy Chen. She is nowhere in the house. She may have been abducted. Alert Sargent Grey and Sargent Bradford.'
This can't be happening again. Not to Lucy.
'No need to alert me, I'm already on the channel.'
It was Sergeant Grey. You can hear the concern and dread lingering in his voice.
'Ill alert Sergeant Bradford. For now, finish processing the scene then I want units searching for Detective Chen.'
