Lucy
Finally, I pull up to my apartment. I had just finished working an 8 hour shift investigating a homicide, and I am ready to throw myself onto my bed and sleep. Of course, that would be after I had some quality time with Tim before his night shift.
Yesterday, metro had made a huge drug bust, but as metro sergeant, Tim had to work 6 hours overtime on what was supposed to be an 8 hour shift, so he decided to take a night shift today, so he has time to sleep and re-energise before returning to work.
I park my car and head round to the trunk to grab my work bag. The light in the apartment is on, and it can't be Tamara since she's away at college, so that means Tim's up. I rush to grab my bag and close the trunk. I want to spend as much time with Tim as I can before he heads out to work.
I practically run into the building, heading towards the elevator and push the button before realising there's a note pinned to the door.
ELEVATOR OUT OF ORDER
Just my luck.
I drag my exhausted self up the staircase that leads to my apartment, and every step feels like a million.
After what felt like an eternity, I finally turn the lock on the door and see Tim, pouring himself a coffee in the kitchen.'Hey baby, how was work?' He asks.
He pours some coffee into my favourite mug and places it on the island. He can tell I was tired
'Exhausting, I worked a homicide with Angela and Nyla. Turns out the victims twelve year old though he could recreate a video game, and that his parents could press revive when they died.'
His expression changes to one that reads I'm not surprised
'Kid must've been scared shitless when he realised this was real life'
'Yeah'
I finish up the coffee and stand up to rinse the mug.
'What's happening with the kid then? He's too young for prison.' Tim asks as he grips my waist and sits me up on the island.
He knows what I want. It's like he's reading my mind.
'He wasn't displaying any symptoms of mental issues, just pure stupidity so its off to juvie, then its off to Victorville (the prison) for however long the judge decides.'
'Fair resolution' he replies as he tucks my hair behind my ear.
I feel my cheeks flush pink as my smile widens. He knows how to make a bad day better. He runs his hands down to my waist and kisses me like there's no tomorrow.
Honestly, I don't know how I got so lucky having a man like Tim.
I grab his neck and kiss him back. Every kiss getting better and better. We just stay like this for what feels like an amazing eternity, one that I want to go on forever, but I have to let him go so I don't make him late for his shift.
'Shame that had to end' he said as he gasps for breath.
'Well, I believe you've got a night shift to get to'
I look him in his gorgeous eyes as I hand him his coffee flask. I wish he could have the night off and just cuddle in bed, or watch some movies and have sushi.
'Thanks babe'
He puts his flask in his work bag and gives me a kiss on the forehead as he grabs his jacket and opens the door.
'Love you'
He smiles before shutting it.
'Love you too!'
He probably can't hear me through the closed door, but if he can, I'm sure it made his night.
Now I'm alone, and my bed is calling me.
A/N I'm sorry I know the chapters really short but they do get longer! I hope you're enjoying it so far!
