Hanni
I was woken up by some noise coming from downstairs. I looked over at the alarm Minji had in the room and I felt everything in my body freeze realizing that I overslept. I should've been gone hours ago.
With everything great happened last night, I couldn't really sleep. I felt restless and my eyes didn't seem to shut at all because my mind just wouldn't stop running in circles with the whole Minji situation.
I let out an anxious sigh as I got off the bed, I didn't even bother looking around, only picking up what were my belongings and exiting the room as quiet as I could.
Once I reached the stair case I looked down and I felt my mind spin. Minji and Haerin were pushing each other back and forth. Haerin kept yelling as Danielle tried to get her off Minji.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Haerin asked and Minji looked at her confused. "Why do you keep running back to her? She doesn't want you! Get that in your head!" And I wanted to go back to the room and wait until their little conversation is done with but Minji's reply made me freeze on my spot.
"You think I don't know that?! Of course I do, but I'm not going to be a bitch to her because of what happened." She said calmly and Haerin could only let out a scoff. "She left you for that lying prick, god knows if she was sleeping with him when you two were together. I felt my stomach feeling sick after Haerin said that. How could she think so low of me?
"Don't you speak about her like that, because she wouldn't, she would never dare to." Minji said, warning Haerin. At least someone spoke well about me. "She left you for him as soon as they got there, how am I not supposed to think such thing." Haerin said. Minji let out a sigh. "I don't care, Haerin. I know Hanni, and that's all that matters!" Minji yelled as she pushed Haerin back.
"Are you stupid? How can you still love her?" Haerin said in disbelief. "How can you love her after she left you here alone and built a new life with your ex-best friend." What? Heesung and Minji were friends? I never knew that, back in the day I just thought they didn't get along for some random sports reason since they were on the same soccer team.
"She didn't know, I never told her what happened between me and Heesung." I furrowed my eyebrows as Haerin let out a sigh. "I never dared to say anything about her friendship with him, I couldn't control who and who she didn't hang out with." Haerin pushed her back which caused Minji to look at her confused.
"If she knew that Heesung took advantage of the situation, do you think she'd still be with him?" What is Haerin saying now? "I don't know!" Minji said and Haerin shook her head. "You should've told her, she would've stayed away from him, the Hanni I thought as a sister would've never talked to him again." What didn't I know?! What didn't Minji tell me?
"Haerin, you have to understand she's married to him now, we could all despise him but it doesn't change the fact that she loves him." Danielle said, her too? Haerin shook her head. "How could she be so stupid and let that man in?" Minji smacked her arm. "She doesn't know, okay? So tone it down with the names." Minji said defending me once more.
"He wanted her from the start, Minji. How couldn't she see it? He provoked you, over and over again, in hopes of getting you mad at her and breaking up with her." I felt the world crumble around me. He did what? No, Heesung could never, and what is she saying? We were just friends! That's all we ever were, he didn't hold any feelings for me...
"And it was because I knew that he was in love with her that I snapped."
And there it was, my thirteenth reason why.
"Every time he was around her, I could feel the defeat coursing through me. I hated Heesung so much for that. I wish things could've ended differently for our friendship but it was never going to end well." Minji said. Haerin looked at her with comforting eyes. "But he chose to hurt you Minji, and everything for her. You were the mature one who decided it was best to end the friendship. But what was the cost, Minji? She ended up falling for you first and ended up breaking you apart in the worst way." Haerin said.
"We can't blame her for breaking my heart, Haerin. She just wanted to be who she has always wanted to be in life. Do you think I had the heart to rip her dreams away from her? No, I could never do that." I could feel my heart breaking as she spoke. How....how could I do this to her?
And now Heesung...I don't understand. We became friend so it long after I started to date Minji. Everything was well, I guess from my point of view only. Maybe the signs were there all along? Minji was never a jealous person, never. She always had full trust on me which led her to be a calm person and not rage out when boys would come up to me and stuff.
But it was always different with Heesung, he was the only person who ever managed to make her body shake in rage and distrust. I never knew they were friends. They hated each other enough for me to never associate them, but that was the clear sign wasn't it?
"So what now? Are you going to leave again?" Haerin asked with a glare that I'm sure would've killed Minji. Minji could only look away from her. "Please, tell me you aren't going to put me through all of that again!" Haerin said in distress as she fisted Minji's shirt in agony. "Look after her for me, Haerin." Minji said and Haerin let out a crazed laugh.
"What about me?! Can't you see you're hurting me!" My heart squeezed at the way Haerin's voice cracked as she yelled at Minji. "You care so much about her, that you ignore me! I'm your sister for fuck sakes!" Minji didn't dare to look at Haerin.
Her eyes landed on me and she let out a gasp which caused Haerin to stop her stream of curses and look at where Minji was looking. Anger flashed her once sad eyes as she looked at me and let go of Minji. Who, looked at me as if she was ready to die under my hold.
"It's all because of you!" Haerin said pointing at me and Minji quickly went back to her senses and pushed Haerin back. "Now, calm down! Don't point fingers, she's not the one to blame!" Minji said and Haerin let out a scoff. "You're going to leave because of her, because she doesn't love you anymore, that your dreams of her being with you shattered before you were given the chance to reach for them." Haerin sounded so bitter and Minji could only fist her shirt as she glared. Those words managed to even hurt me.
Her eyes spoke words that she didn't dare to say. Danielle looked at me so defeated as she stood on the side. Not wanting to get on neither bad side.
"If you want to leave, leave! The door is right open for you. Just go!" Haerin said as she pushed Minji away with such force that it made Minji stumble back. Minji only looked at her sister with sad eyes before she walked pass her, bumping her shoulder on the way as she opened the front door.
And before I could even stop myself....
"Minji!"
