A/N: I got sleepy which usually leads to a terrible read over, but as promised a second new chapter. I have to do some restructuring, but we're almost finished with this segment. Later today I'll start uploading the chapters to Ao3.
I hope you enjoy this one too and hopefully I'll see you guys soon.

"The Human Zoo. I can't believe it still exists." Pearl said, staring at the massive structure. Yet another unresolved blemish in Rose's rebellion. There was so much they wanted to do, so many they wanted to save. They...they just couldn't get to everyone. Her eyes flitted to Black Diamond before she turned her focus back to the task at hand.
"Dad's gotta be in there. We just have to find him and bust him out." Steven said surer than ever.
Black almost laughed, that was only part of a plan. If only things were ever that simple. This thing was bound to have gems on it. How were they supposed to even make it pass the landing bay?
Of course, this went unsaid as they entered the structure. Where their first obstacle lay before them, quartz soldiers. All of them except Black gasped at the sight of the two amethysts stationed at the entrance to the zoo.
"Those Gems." Amethyst whispered. That niggling insecurity taunted her with the fact that they were what proper amethyst looked like. Before the scathing words of Jasper calling her a runt followed after. No wonder she thought that way if amethyst were meant to look like this.
But...another part of her was intrigued she finally would be able to see gems like her. What were they like? Were all quartz soldiers like Jasper? Or maybe just maybe some of them were like her.
"Amethyst guards." Pearl finished. Of course, it wouldn't be so easy. A part of her knew that but to see just the beginning of their troubles had reality crashing down on her. "Right. Like we could just waltz up as an ownerless Pearl, a Fusion, an escaped Diamond prisoner, and-and you two." Pearl lamented.
Steven, ever the optimist, thought this was a simple fix. "We just need disguises. I'll be Esteban Universedad."
While Black looked at Pearl strangely. He couldn't recall ever saying his place in Homeworld outside of the lie that he told Amethyst forever ago. It was something that could have been brushed off, but her surety held his attention. But unfortunately, now wasn't the time or the place.
Pearl would pull her hair out if she could. This was more than just wearing silly outfits. "Steven, it doesn't matter what your name is. We're all going to stand out."
Before the argument could continue the sound of Garnet unfusing rang through the ship. "We won't stand out if we play the roles we were made for." Sapphire reassured them, hand in hand with Ruby.
Black Diamond smiled at the two despite his worries. Sure, they could all play their roles but what did that mean for him? He racked mind over the various gems he could change into. It had been so long that he hardly remembers which of his original gems still existed.
Ruby seeing the apprehension on all their faces decided to pick up where Sapphire left off, "Okay everybody, hear her out."
"Today, I'm a Sapphire traveling with my Ruby guard, and my personal Pearl. Esteban, I've brought you as an offering for the zoo." Sapphire explains.
"¡Pobrecito Esteban! Steven said, clutching his face.
"Uh, what about us?" Amethyst spoke up gesturing to herself and Black Diamond. The plan was great and all, but she was much shorter than the amethyst outside and Black Diamond was well...a diamond.
