Hello, everyone. I thought I would introduce you to a special friend. His name is Opie and he's the real life inspiration for Benji.

While Benji and Opie may be different breeds, they are kindred spirits. Opie was rescued by ASPCA and was terribly traumatized. When we first adopted him, he was so scared that he constantly cowered and wouldn't eat. After an hour of lying on the floor in front of him, he finally accepted food, but only from our hands. After a few weeks, he started to feel more at home, and now he's become the prince of the house. Ha! He's a very happy boy now, especially when he's cuddling or has the zoomies.
You might notice he looks a little different. Opie is a xolo, or a Mexican hairless dog. Like Dante off of Coco. His skin feels a bit like velvet. And he's my writing buddy!
