Chapter 23

Elsa's P.O.V

I woke up to the sun shining on my face. I slowly opened my eyes and noticed that dawn had arrived. I sat up and stretched, then turned and shook Jack awake. "Jack. Come on, time to go." He groaned as he opened his eyes slowly, and he looked up at me. I blushed as he stared at me. "Come on, get up." I turned away and stood up. I sighed, and thought hard of a simple animal to be. 'Hmmm. Owl? Cat? Ou maybe a snake?' I opened my eyes and looked at Jack as he stood up stretching. "Jack, what do you think about reptiles?" He gave me a weird look before answering. "Well, I think snakes are really cool, Ive always wanted to get one." I smiled and nodded turning away from him. "Why do you ask?" I held my hand up, made a fist, and stuck my index finger out, implying for him to wait a minute. I focused as hard as I could, then suddenly I began shrinking very quickly. My limbs seemed to disappear, and my body became longer as I laid on the ground. I opened my eyes and looked up at him.

His jaw dropped. "Damn! Thats so cool, Ill never get tired of seeing your abilities, and you keep amazing me every time. Its so cool, youre an albino snake, with icy blue coloured eyes." He crouched down and reached his hand out to me, I slithered forward and began wrapping around his arm as I climbed up it. I slowly went across his shoulders, and stopped when my head reached his ear while my tail hung down his chest on the other side. He smiled and laughed a bit when I hissed and I tickled his neck. "Okay, maybe dont do the tongue thing at my neck." I lowered my head abit and stopped touching his neck. He sighed and walked to the ladder, then climbed down. "Wait, what about my hair?" He spoke quietly, and I realized he was right, I forgot to change the colour. I quickly rubbed my tail over one side, then my head on the other. His hair slowly turned a deep brown colour, and he pulled his hood up to hide me. 'Okay, now walk in the door, then straight through the building towards the bathrooms, the back door is over there.' He nodded and followed my instructions. I used wandless magic and turned his hoodie black, then extended it into a cloak so hed blend in better.

I heard him take a deep breath, then he walked in the door, and started making his way through. He kept his head down as he walked towards the back door. Soon as he got to it, he quickly walked out and sighed when we got back outside. I stuck my head out so he could see me, and I nodded towards a brick wall. He walked up to it, and held my wand up. I quickly slithered down his arm, along my wand, and then reached my tail out and tapped the bricks in the secret code. Then I went back up his arm and back to his neck where I was hiding before. He quietly gasped as we watched the bricks start to move out of the way revealing an opening. "Woah." He spoke so quietly I almost didnt hear him, but I enjoyed seeing his reaction. 'This is Diagon Alley, now quickly start walking. Try to blend in, Ill direct you to the book shop. But put your hands in the pockets of the cloak, and keep my wand in your hand. Dont let go of it, but youll feel in your other pocket a small bag. Its full of Galleons, there should be enough to afford the books I need.' He nodded and quickly followed my directions as he snaked through the crowd.

Soon enough, we reached the store and he walked in. 'Take my wand out, and swish it slowly like I showed you.' He nodded and followed my directions. As he did that I used wandless magic and started summoning books I needed, placing them on the counter where the owner was. 'And stop.' He stopped and put my wand in his pocket again, holding it tight. He walked over to the owner, and pulled the bag out. "Ah young man, great choices for the books by the way, these are some of my favourites too." The guy winked and chuckled a bit. "Alright, lets see how much do you have?" Jack opened the bag and paused for a moment as he acted like he was checking. 'Pull out 3/4 of them. That should be enough.' He did as I directed, and he handed the money to the owner. "Ah, perfect amount. Right on the button there." Jack smiled and nodded silently as the guy gave some change back, then Jack took out my wand and swished it, as I used wandless magic to shrink the books down. He grabbed the stack and placed them in his other pocket.
