Benjamin

After an exhausting day at work, I pull over in my parents' driveway. I park my car beside a brand-new Lambo.

Great. Idiot number one is here.

I will my legs to work as I climb out of my Porsche. I groan loudly when I see the blue range-rover parked.

Double great! Idiot number two is also here.

Mustering up enough strength, I drag my feet to the mansion.

It's just a dinner with people you dislike. You can survive this, Ben. That's what I tell myself repeatedly.

We have this stupid tradition where once a month we have to attend the obligatory family dinner. We have to report to our parents about what's going on with our lives at this dinner because otherwise they couldn't be bothered to know about their children. I don't know why we even have these dinners. They always end up in disasters. These dinners are nothing but a way for my parents to keep their pretense of 'loving and caring parents'.

Climbing the stairs at a snail's pace I finally reach the door and ring the doorbell.

Not even a second later the door is opened by Mr. Stevenson- the old butler who's been serving here since before I was born.

"Welcome home, master Ben!" He greets me with a kind smile on his face. "Let me take your coat. Everyone's in the seating room."

"Thanks, Mr. Stevenson." I tell the man before taking off my coat and handing it to him. "On a scale of 1 to 10 how bad do you think this dinner would go?"

"I'd say a solid 10. But I think Master Ray would take the most brunt of your father's wrath this time."

"At least that's a relief." I part ways with him and I follow the familiar maze of hallways. I've spent eighteen years of my life living here, but this place has never felt like home to me.

The conversation dies down as soon as I enter the seating room. Three pairs of green eyes look in my direction.

"Ben!" Jared shouts as he sees me and sprints towards me, tackling me in a hug. "I missed you!!!"

I wrap my arms around him and place a kiss on his black curls. "I missed you too, Jer," I mumble into his hair.

I pull away and hold onto his shoulder taking a good look at him. "You've grown taller." I note.

My youngest brother's face breaks into a giant smile. "Yes, I have. In no time I'll be as tall as you." He states proudly.

I break my focus from Jer when I hear my name being called.

"Ben!" Ray exclaims the way Jer had and runs to me. I see his intentions this time and before he could latch himself to me, I put Jared between him and me. Ray ends up hugging Jer's back.

Raymond is younger than me. And my least favorite sibling. I harbor no real hatred for him. But I sure dislike him a lot. He's spoiled and immature. Also has zero brain cells. We all believe his brain cells might have been destroyed when Chris had dropped him on his head when he was about four while playing. So, in our family if Ray does something stupid, we blame it on Chris. Because he's the one responsible for Ray's stupidity. But since Chris is a doctor, he claims Ray was born stupid. And I can't argue with that.

"Get off me, you oaf." Jer is quick to shake off Ray's arms.

Ray, the third eldest of Wyatt Clan, pouts at Jer. "Why didn't you greet me with the same excited hug?"

"Because I hate you." Jer says bluntly. "And Ben's my favorite brother."

Ray gasps loudly. "I thought I was your favorite brother." Chris scoffs driving my attention to him.
