One thing before you start, every Chapter is a different POV all according to whose name is on the Chapter.

"The deal was I pay for your school and you live here with me, so there should be no reason for you to shirk class or let your grades plunge," Hyuk declared as he hastily crammed his belongings into a bag. He glanced up for a moment once he had finished stuffing the bag, hoisting it onto his shoulder.
"Of course," I beamed, thrilled at the prospect of finally cohabiting full-time with my elder sibling and embarking on this new chapter of my life.
"Good, I'm glad we're in agreement. Now come along. I need to drop you off at school first, and then I'll go collect the remainder of your things from Dad's place." Hyuk snatched up his keys as I trailed along behind him.
We rushed out the front door, the cool morning air brushing against our faces. The sound of chirping birds filled the silence between us as we walked towards Hyuk's car. It was a small, beat-up sedan, but it had been his faithful companion through countless adventures.
As we buckled ourselves in, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. This new arrangement meant leaving behind the familiar comforts of my childhood home and venturing into uncharted territory. But I knew deep down that this was an opportunity for growth, a chance to forge a stronger bond with Hyuk.
The engine roared to life, dissipating any lingering doubts in my mind. Hyuk expertly maneuvered through the city streets, his hands confidently gripping the steering wheel. We exchanged lighthearted banter along the way, laughter punctuating the conversation.
Eventually, we arrived at my new school. It stood tall and imposing, its facade emanating an air of knowledge and possibility. I took a deep breath, stepping out of the car and inhaling the scent of freshly cut grass.
Hyuk walked me to the entrance, his reassuring presence by my side giving me a newfound sense of comfort. We paused before the grand doors, exchanging a look that spoke volumes. It was a silent promise between siblings – I would make the most of this opportunity, and he would support me every step of the way.
With a final squeeze of his hand, I mustered up the courage to enter. The hallways were bustling with students – some rushing to class, others gathering in small groups, chatting animatedly about their weekend escapades. A sense of belonging washed over me as I blended into this vibrant tapestry.
A week of classes went by in no time, I finished up my notes for this class and sat back in my chair waiting for time to pass while everyone else finished. This class was a bit easy for me, as it was my second time taking it. The credit for this class wouldn't transfer over from my other college, so they are having me take it again, which was such a drag. Truthfully, I didn't even need this class for what I was majoring in, but I needed the extra credits.
"Psst" I heard from near me, but there was no way it was for me, as I hadn't really made any friends at this school and wasn't expecting to. "Psst, hey" I heard again, and raised an eyebrow before looking to my right. "Are you talking to me?" I questioned the girl beside me.
"No, I'm talking to the ghost in the room," she laughed. The way she said that, coming from anyone else, I definitely would have taken it wrong, like she was making fun of me. But the way she said it and the way she laughed afterwards seemed like she was just being funny and trying not to be awkward about it. I slid the other side of my headphones off my head and gave her my full attention.
"Did you need something?" I asked.
"Please tell me you got all that information that the Professor word vomited. I barely got any notes, and I was wondering if you did, could I borrow them?" she smiled sweetly. Before I could say anything, the professor clapped her hands together.
"Okay, I know it's early, but since everyone should have what they need, you can all be dismissed." The sounds of chairs around us moved in unison, and people started to leave. Some lingered around, chatting with their friends.
I looked over again, and the girl continued staring at me. "Oh - umm yeah, I got all of it," I heard myself say. I looked down at my notebook, and I started to gather my pens and other things.
"Do you think I could borrow that?" she asked, tugging at my sleeve. "I'm normally a good note-taker, but something about this professor and how fast she goes - I can't keep up."
"Sure," I replied, handing over my notebook. "I'll need it back," I deadpanned, not annoyed with her but ready to get out of the classroom - it was my last class for the day.
She took her phone out of her pocket, "Hold your phone out," she instructed. She looked between me and her phone and did as I was asked. "Tap your phone onto mine," she told me. They made a dinging sound, and she smiled. "There you go, I'll text you where I work. I'll have all the notes down before I get off," she explained.
"Okay," I agreed, not wanting to appear too eager to get out of the room. "I'm Ollie," I said.
She grinned, "Oh my god! Right! I forgot to even ask. I'm Laney," she replied, smiling widely.
The exchange left me feeling a tiny bit more optimistic about my time at this school. It seemed like I had finally made an acquaintance, even if it was just one. And perhaps, just maybe, things would get a little less lonely as time went on.
