"Elena, come here this instant," my aunt called, pulling me out of my conversation with Hongjoong. He had just informed me that Ollie had decided to accept his offer and he and the others would be busy getting his room ready. We bid each other goodbye before I shoved my phone in my pocket and exited my room.
"Yes, yee-moh. Is everything alright?" I asked as I rounded the corner.
"Did you not hear me? I've been calling you," she said, irritation laced in her voice. I could see it on her face as well and I hoped that her bad mood could be easily fixed.
My aunt wasn't the worst, but she wasn't the best either. I moved in with her after my parents died when I was six. She'd always been good to me, taking care of everything I needed, but by the time I graduated high school, she had turned into a woman who could easily anger.
"No, I'm sorry. I was on the phone with a friend," I admitted, not wanting her to know about my relationship with Hongjoong just yet.
She asked me if I could run to the store to grab a few things and I obliged. My aunt was old, having been the oldest in the family so getting around was not as easy as it used to be for her. By the time I made it back, Ollie called to ask if I could come help him pack and seeing as how I had done what my yee-moh asked of me, she had no objections.
And that led me to where I was now, throwing Ollie's underwear at him as my face contorted in disgust.
"I don't mind folding your clothes, but I draw the line at anything that can't be visibly seen on the body."
Ollie laughed, "You're such a baby sometimes."
"That's a lot of smack coming from someone who crawls into his boyfriend's lap and enjoys being held like one," I teased with a smirk. Ollie may be all tough on the outside, but he's soft and gooey on the inside.
"Shut up."
I placed the shirt I folded in his suitcase before grabbing another one. "So, tell me. Are you excited?"
He nodded shyly. "Ecstatic. Moving in with Wooyoung means I don't have to deal with Hyuk's chaotic friends anymore."
That statement earned a chuckle from me before I said, "You're dating someone whose friends are just as chaotic as Hyuk's."
"True, but the other six don't live with them which means there will be more silence and I can't wait for it," Ollie smiled and I could see by the excited glint in his eyes that he was ready to move already.
"You're not wrong. It will be nice to have a place that's not influenced by family members." My tone dropped into one of sadness, the want to leave my aunt's place stronger than I thought. "I wish I could move out of my aunt's house. I hate being there. Don't get me wrong. I love her to pieces, but I'm ready to live my own life."
"I felt that," Ollie replied as he offered a smile to show that he truly understood how I felt. "Who knows? Maybe Hongjoong will ask you to move in next."
"I don't know if that's a good idea," I laughed awkwardly as heat spread from my cheeks to my ears as I thought about the endless nights Hongjoong and I could have if Ollie's statement came true.
"You can't hide anything, can you?" Ollie taunted, his eyes roaming from my cheeks to my ears. My hands flew to my face as a muffled, "Shut up," escaped through the cracks of my fingers.
"Never. I just hope you know you're stuck with me forever so you better get used to being picked on because I'm never going to stop."
For some reason being told that I was stuck being annoyed forever was comforting. After losing my parents, my aunt was the only person I had left and knowing that I had someone else in my life who intended to stay there made me feel happy. Who knew that asking a random guy for his notes one day in class would have led us to where we were now? I guess they weren't kidding when they said one moment could change your life forever.
