It took every ounce of my restraint not to eagerly agree when Hongjoong invited me to move in with him and Wooyoung. I forced myself to request a day to contemplate it, despite already craving the exhilaration of living with them. While I didn't actually need time to ponder it, I had to consult my overprotective brother Hyuk first. He knew nothing of Hongjoong and would surely object to me moving in with a stranger, especially given my relationship with Wooyoung. My doting Hyung's constant sheltering often spoiled me rotten.
I was never a mama's boy nor daddy's, just my Hyung's. He was always my safe haven. But residing with Wooyoung and Hongjoong would benefit us all tremendously.
I collapsed onto my bed with an exhausted sigh, letting my strained eyes fall shut. As I started to drift off, my phone jarringly rang. I contemplated ignoring it, but seeing Wooyoung's name flash on the screen made me snatch it up eagerly.
"Hey Woo," I answered, a smile spreading across my face.
"Hey baby, how'd the talk with your hyung go?" he questioned. I could hear the exhilaration in his voice, equally eager to know the verdict.
"He refused," I revealed, and Wooyoung let out a disappointed sigh.
"Oh," he murmured dejectedly.
"But...he said I'm an adult and can't force me to stay," I added more optimistically.
"Oh?" Wooyoung perked up.
"Yeah, so I guess I'm moving in," I chuckled lightheartedly.
"I'll come help you start packing tomorrow," he laughed.
"Bring the guys too, especially Hongjoong. My hyung will feel better putting a face to the person I'm rooming with, and knowing who to hunt down if anything happens to me," I joked.
"I can do that. Anything else, my prince?" he cooed affectionately.
"Just tell me, why does it feel like Hongjoong is trying to adopt me too, like he did with you guys?" I tried to stifle my laughter.
"Because he probably is," Wooyoung confirmed amusedly. I could envision his smirk through the phone and practically hear the eye roll.
I chuckled softly, picturing Wooyoung's playful expression. There was a warmth in his voice that always made me feel safe and loved, just like my doting Hyung. And now, with the prospect of moving in with Hongjoong and Wooyoung, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement mingled with a hint of nervousness.
