The past week has revolved around school and spending time in my apartment with Wooyoung, which has been quite exciting. I would wait for the right moment when my brother and his friends were out or until my brother was asleep before letting Wooyoung in the apartment, not to hide our relationship but to delay the inevitable introduction. Initially angry with Laney, my feelings had faded since the eye-opening night with Wooyoung. I messaged her the next day, clearing her of any wrongdoing but teasing her for sticking us together in a locked room; thankfully, it led to reconciliation.
On the night we ran away from his place, we went back to mine and talked until dawn broke. I felt a strong urge to uncover all his secrets, regretting not getting to know someone so fascinating sooner. He seemed just as eager to learn about me, his eyes sparkling as I shared more about myself.
We finally fell asleep right before the birds began their morning songs outside. I could tell because their chirping grew louder. When I woke up later, I found myself in Wooyoung's embrace. He left briefly to freshen up but came back after only a few hours to take me on a day full of fun.
That week we spent together non-stop, either wrapped up in each other or engrossed in our phones. I'm sure our friends must have grown tired of how distracted we were, whether lost in each other's presence or chatting away on our devices.
Our playful banter hasn't stopped, which I enjoy. It's no longer grating but amusing. I've warmed up to some of the guys too. San and I bonded over our shared love of Haikyuu, Mingi and I have similar music tastes, and sweet Seonghwa tends to mother everyone, which I find endearing.
As the days passed, Wooyoung and I found ourselves falling into a comfortable routine. We would spend hours on end just talking about anything and everything, laughing at each other's jokes and sharing our deepest fears and dreams. I loved how he would listen intently, his eyes never leaving mine as if I held the key to his heart.
But it wasn't all deep conversations and stolen glances. We also knew how to have fun together. Wooyoung took me to the local amusement park one sunny afternoon, where we rode roller coasters and indulged in cotton candy and ice cream. The thrill of being flung through the air and feeling the wind whip against my face was exhilarating, but nothing compared to the feeling of being by Wooyoung's side.
Back at my apartment, we would snuggle up on my bed, binge-watching our favorite TV shows or engrossed in a game of Mario Kart. Our playful banter continued to fill the air, effortlessly blending with the sounds of our laughter.
Time seemed to fly by in a blur of happiness and contentment. Even Laney noticed the change in me. She observed how I walked with an extra spring in my step and wore a smile that reached my eyes. "You seem different," she said one evening as we sat behind the front desk at work. "It's like you've found something truly special."
I couldn't help but smile at her words. "I think I have," I admitted shyly, my gaze drifting towards the window as I people-watched.
But amidst all this newfound joy, there was still a sense of unease that lingered in the back of my mind. The thought of introducing Wooyoung to my brother and his friends weighed heavily on my heart. I couldn't help but wonder how they would react, it's been a while since they've seen me in a relationship of any kind.
