A Foxy Detective!

Chapter 16

Travis ducked as a bullet shot over his head and heard the other officers firing back at the attackers. Travis looked over the desk and saw six dead officer and several dozen injured. He ducked again as more bullet shot over his head. He was thinking "How the hell did this happen! Is the mayor this mad that I have evidence that he would do something like this!" Travis remembered how this all started before it turned into a fire fight as it was now.

~Flashback two days ago~

Travis was talking with the officers who were at the scene when James body was carried off in a body bag into the back of Jack's vehicle. The other two will make it hopefully unfortunately three civilians were killed by the stray shooting from the sniper. The killer was also in the back of the vehicle. Jack wasn't to happy with David for moving the body but he understood that they couldn't wait. 

Travis, Maire and David were all questioned and then they were released after the officers got everything that they needed. Jack then walked up to Travis and said "I need you whenever you are done here to meet me at my house. There is something that we need to discus there" Travis nodded his head and whispered what he was told about some people being murders and that some officers might be dirty. Jack nodded his head and said "I know you don't want to hear this but it might be true. Let's just say that I might have a lot of evidence that may support what I have learned."

David then walked away from them and pulled out his cell phone and he looked at Travis and mad a hand sign that was used when he was going to call the Elder Counsel. Travis nodded his head as he said to Jack "Yes! I understand then I will meet you there in a little bit after I go change. I might also need your address so that I know where I am heading too. I hope that whatever it is that you have it is not a waste of time or anything like that."

Jack smiled and said "Trust me it will be worth it but for now I will get these bodies back to the morgue to see if I can find anything worth noting on the body. If I do I will give you a call but until then stay safe I think whatever went down here will not be the last thing that happens." He then walked away and got into his vehicle and drove off heading towards the police department. David then came back and he had a straight face expression on his face. 

Travis looking around seeing that there were still police officers around jerked his head to motion to get into his vehicle. Marie walked quickly got in the passenger seat while Travis got the driver seat and David got in the back seat. While started up his vehicle and headed back towards his house David was telling him what the Elder Council told him over the phone "I got in contact with the Elder Council and they said that they would bring in some reinforcements two days from now. I guess until then we got to hang on and hope that nothing else goes wrong I still can't believe that half of this town maybe murders that must be shocking to you Travis."

Travis parked his car in his parking lot and saw that there were two teenagers hanging out by his driveway. One was a male and the other one was a female who was cuddling up to the teenage boy. He looked like he just got out of a fight with the woods. Dirt was clinging to his pants, torn up shirt, messed up hair with leaves in it and muddy shoes on. Travis parked his vehicle and they all got out as he walked towards the two. He cleared his throat and said "Well I think I know who you are boy and I am happy that you have survived for what happened to you. Now why don't you come inside and get a shower and a change of clothes before we have a chat. Of course the lady who is with you is allowed in my house too as it wouldn't be right for me to invite one but not the other."

Travis took a breath and then turned around when the two got up and followed him through the barrier that was around his house. He didn't see Marie or David which means they were probably in his house right now. No surprise to see that David had picked the lock to his house again as Travis still had his house keys on him. He just sighed and he walked the two into his house and into the kitchen. Marie was already there making sandwiches while David was in chair sharping his sword on a wet stone.
