A Foxy Detective!

Chapter 20

~Several hours before~

Travis woke up after he finally woke up to his alarm going off which woke up Marie who  groaned and tried to snuggle back closer to Travis. He sighed as he turned off the alarm and kissed Marie on the forehead. He then sadly had to extract himself from Marie grip and started to do his morning routine. When he came back out of his closet Marie was sprawled out on his bed and she changed her clothes to work attire. 

She then sat up when he came closer and she smiled at him while a shadow passed past the window....Travis then wiped around to face the window only to see a green vine crawling across the window. He sighed and turned back around as he saw Marie blushing as she mumbled about something. She then waved her left hand and the vine that was crawling went away as it crawled back outside the view that Travis had of the window. Marie then said to Travis "Sorry my emotions sometimes effect plants and they get quiet affectionate like a Venus Fly Trap." 

Travis just kissed her gently on the lips and said "I don't mind anyway lets get going unless you want to stay here while I go to work?" Marie shook her head no she then got up and headed out into the living room where there resident dragon friend was sleeping with a pink blanket and a pink night cap on. Travis seeing this tried not to laugh but it was too funny he raided his grandpa's old closet that had his clothes. Needless to say that Travis grandpa before leaving grandma wore a lot of pink because she told him he looked good in it. Now David was wearing his old clothes and it was just as funny when he saw he grandpa wearing it.

He fell to the floor laughing and rolling around while Marie just sighed at him but he couldn't help it so sue him. David needless to say woke up with a start and growled so loud that the house shook with his growl. Travis stopped laughing when that happened because that reaction was something new that he never knew David could do. Marie looked at David in surprise as he stared at them with his eyes somewhat glowing bright orange and his eyes were slits like a cats.

Travis then spoke up which made David look at him with his eye slowly going back to normal "Hey David you alright? Sorry for scaring you like that I didn't mean to you know that I just wasn't expecting you to wear my old grandpa's stuff like that." 

David nodded his head as he huffed which sent smoke blowing into Travis face. David spoke not a word he just got up and walked into the kitchen and after several minutes later returned dresses like he always did. He then spoke up finally after he stared at both of them "I am sorry I didn't mean to growl like that at you two. Please accept this as a gift of apology." He then pulled out from behind his back two golden bracers and handed one to Travis and the other to Marie. When Travis held it he felt the weight of it he found the bracers were quiet light but he also felt a magic radiating off the bracers. 

Marie just smiled at David "Thank you for the gift I wish we could hand you something as an apology but we have nothing to give. I like the bracer although I can feel that there is magic inscribed in them." Travis know how his friend was after all these years decided to wear the bracer on his left arm while Marie wore hers on her right arm. He then felt the magic that clung to the bracer snap around him although it wasn't painful it was a weird feeling.  

David smiled and said while looking at both of them "Those bracers do more than look nice they have some magical properties that I found out by trail and error also Jack's wife told me what they do. That said I will not tell you what they do you will just have to find out for yourself. Now lets not keep the boss waiting any longer than necessary."

So with that David walked out the front door while Travis and Marie walked out several minutes later and Travis closed and locked the door. He knew that his parents where going to show up tonight but he didn't care right now he wanted to make sure the home even protected by wards should be locked just in case. He then got into his car and started driving towards the police station. When he got there they all went inside and he passed Ted and his girlfriend Hanna who were in the lobby.
