A Foxy Detective!

Chapter 28

Travis sighed as he walked slowly away from the funeral to take a break from it. He was looking around the graves when he spotted Jack a little bit ways next to a grave with flowers. Travis then felt someone grab his hand and squeeze it for comfort. He looked to his right side to see Marie holding his hand in hers with a small smile. Travis also felt someone breathing down his neck and he smelled the scent coming off his friend who was back behind him along with Ted.

No words were spoken as they all in a group headed towards Jack who was crouched next to a grave now instead of standing. When Travis got up closer he knew who the grave was without a shadow of doubt it was Jack's dead brother grave, he did not stop until he was right back behind close but not close enough to crowd him. Jack even with his back turned to them didn't say nothing at first for a few minutes then he spoke in a monotone voice "Hey, brother it's me Jack! I came today to tell you that dream of seeking justice for everyone it's coming true slowly but surly. I wish you could be here to see it, your daughters miss you so much. I know they don't show it but I hear them crying for you every night."

Travis chocked back his tears that he had in his eyes as he heard Jack talking to his brother in a sad tone. He didn't know what to say or do because just saying sorry just seems like not enough to him so he stayed where he was and kept quiet for his friend. Then Jack continued to talk to his brother "You were so bright and happy, you made us all laugh and happy. Mum was right you were like a mini sunshine who spread joy and happiness to others. I miss you so much there was so much I felt guilt over arguing with you b-before you were k-k-killed, I wish I could have told you how much I loved you that day. I am here now to say how sorry I acted on that day and that I hope you are happy up there making people smile in heaven. L-l-love you brother."

Travis shook as the tears blurred his vision as he wept silently along with everyone else. Jack shoulders shook as well as he cried out in pain and sorrow. He then turned a little bit as Travis blew his nose and wiping his tears away. "You know I don't think I told you all what happened to my brother after his death. You know there was a corner before me who tired cutting up my dead brother up to pieces following the mayors orders. He was arrested thank goodness and executed in prison for trying to hide evidence also messing with an elder council body. So we had to have a close casket service when we burred him, here were he said he wanted to be buried here so he can watch over us. You know what is even sadder is that know one will know of what he did that day, he was and all ways will be a hero. He put this plan into motion, did all the prep work so the stage was set and all was left was the curtains to come to a close. In which you did and you made me and my family including my dead brother very proud."

Travis smiled and said to Jack "I think your brother is proud of you too. You inherited his dream without realizing it and in doing so accomplished his dream with me. I am happy that you tell me that your brother would be proud of me even if I never met him he sounds like a fun guy to hang out with. As for being a hero I think once this all said and done there might be something that can be done to let people know it was your brother who is a hero in all of this. I am not promising nothing but I will see what I can do about it."

Travis then hugged Jack as Jack hugged him back then Travis turned around while the others said there words of peace with Jack. He then headed back to the funeral as people started to leave when they were lowering the bodies down into the ground. Travis noticed that his friend Ark was holding the kid with no parents in his arms next to the female officer he likes. Travis had this wicked idea that he should tease them about hearing wedding bells soon although he that in his mind that he should probably leave them alone for right now. He felt a tug on his hand and turned around to stare at Marie who was smiling at him. Travis couldn't help but smile back at her.
