A Foxy Detective!

Chapter 3

The man was still glaring at Travis when he smiled and laughed out loud "Ha! I am just joking that son of mine need to be taught a lesson in manners. I would have done it but then I probably be arrested for hurting my son."

Travis sighed and said "Yeah well he made fun of the shifter religion. So he had it coming to him." He glared at the floor when he said that. He felt Ark pat his back and Travis looked back up to see a furious captain or chief.

The man said with a lot of angry "Well me being a shifter as well I understand where you are coming at. Don't worry he will get a punishment from me when he wakes up and goes back into work. Now Travis was it? Welcome to the force! My name is Mike Anders and I would like if you just called me captain." 

Travis nodded and then smiled at the captain. Travis then he got a serious look on his face and asked the captain a question that was on his mind "Captain, Sir? I was wondering about my partner? Ark let it slip that something happened and you were going to tell me sir?"

Ark looked embarrassed as the captain looked at Ark. He then looked at Travis and sighed before saying to him "Well yes something did happen to your partner. He was caught with contraband of magical objects and he was arrested and thrown into jail. I am sorry! You have no partner right now and it will take awhile to get another person through before they become your partner." 

Travis nodded then sighed for the unknown number of times today "Right! Well it can't be helped I guess. Thank you for telling me captain."

The captain just smiled and said "Of course! You know I still remember you from all those years back who knew that you would become a detective because of that one incident."

Travis grimaced as his past for that one incident was brought up " Thank you captain! I couldn't forget about that incident even if I wanted to. So it pushed me to be a detective and help people find closer."

Captain just laughed and gave Travis a thumbs up while saying "Good! Good! I am sorry about you seeing that but you helped a lot when you were a kid. Now I have your record here and might I say very impressive. Why I say you have many good remarks as Ark over here does."

Ark who was silent all this time was blushing like a red apple "Thanks you sir!" He said in a light whisper of embarrassment tone of voice.

Travis smiled and said to the captain "Thank you for your praise! I hope I can do the same here as I did all those other cases!"

As the captain was fixing to reply to Travis his office door was opened and one of the police officers that with Ted was panting and was trying to catch his breath. After several minutes of catching his breath he look at the captain and paled as hew saw Travis and Ark with the captain. The captain having enough of his silence and his rude interruption "What did you come barging in like this for? If this about Ted I already know what happened so you can get out if you are going to wine about that!" His voice was clear and sharp letting him know he was not going to take such nonsense right now.

The guy said in a shaky voice as he looked at the captain "No Captain! It isn't about that sir! We just got a call sir and a person has found a dead body in the dumpster behind the bar!"

The captain stood up out of his chair, looked around the room. Then he looked at the man and said "Thank you for that information! You can leave and close the door on your way out. If you ever slam me door again you better hope that you are injured to the point where it's a emergency."

The man paled even whiter than a ghost and nodded his head really quickly and backed up and closed the door in front of him as he did. That left Travis who was eyeing the captain and smiled a little bit as he was right about how tall he was and Ark who was staring at the captain. Travis then wiped the smile off his face and looked at the captain in attention as his eyes locked onto Travis's.
