A Foxy Detective!

Chapter 14

Travis looked at Marie as she started to explain what happened when he walked out to get his recorder. She was getting things set up the plates and forks when David had asked her something. She was busy at the time and wasn't listening to what he said at first. Maire then after getting the place set up asked David to repeat what he said "Can I see your body?" Maire blushed with angry and that is when she punched him when Travis walked in on them.

His fox was growling and wanted to fight David for saying something like that but Travis again shoved his fox down and thought to himself "I don't think David would be  a perv like that I think when he wakes up I will ask what he means by that." While he and Marie were fixing there dinner on there plates David finally woke up and he moved to the dinner table while giving Marie a wide birth. He sat down and Marie gave him a look that made him jerk back with fright which was funny to Travis.

Travis after calming his laughter looked at David who was on the opposite side of the table next to Marie's left hand side. "David what did you mean by can I see your body? Did you mean to say her shifter form?" David nodded his head while starting to eat his food, Travis and Marie decided to do the same. The explosion of flavor from the pasta and the shells with the cheese was out of this world. Then suddenly the silence was shattered as Travis phone rang and he sighed will getting a drink of water and looking at who was calling him.

His eyes went wide and he glared at who was calling him. He answered the phone "What do you want I thought we were done with each other? You even said so yourself when you left me so why are you calling my ex-girlfriend?" Marie stopped eating as did David and they paid attention to Travis. Travis noticing the looks put the phone on the table and put on speaker phone so everyone could hear his ex-girlfriend on the phone.

A heavy female voice said on the other line " You know you are being very rude even though I could have kept your stuff instead of handing it off to your friend." They all heard her sigh before she continued "Well I wanted to know when will I get the vehicle that is owed to me? I mean technically it's yours but my dragon wants that vehicle and I do to. Anyway I heard that you ran off not long ago and it was because of me and your job letting you go or firing you. Your cousin is mad at me and won't speak to me by the way but your mother called me telling me all about why you left." Travis was ferrous and he felt a huge magical power leashing out of David which he has never seen him get this mad at all since they worked all these years.

David then spoke up with an edge in his tone "Dragon shifter we go by a code of honor. You and your dragon are being petty and not honoring the agreement that was made that after he left all his stuff except the stuff your dragon has claimed is his. So there for you will not see the vehicle unless it is dumped on your head DO I MAKE MY SELF CLEAR!" His ending rant ended in him shouting with reverberating through the house. So much magical power was leaking out of David it was suffocating in a way but it showed just how powerful he is or how much he hides.

His ex-girlfriend over the phone squeaked which was shocking because that means David scarred her for some reason "Of course the freak has to listen to the conversation! Fine I will honor our agreement and listen I wanted to say this while I still have a bruised pride by the freak of a dragon... I am sorry I shouldn't have cheated on you! I should have just broken up with you before hand I ...I...I know that now...I hope you find your mate...I am sorry I got to go...I made a mistake calling you when you need to move on in your life" By the end his ex-girlfriend was crying and he, David, and Marie where all in shock. To have a dragon cry is really hard there supposed to be tough, prideful, and other stuff. 

Travis knew his ex-girlfriend and crying was not one of the things she usually did unless it was a death of a family member or something else. Marie suddenly swiped his phone off the table and turned off speaker phone, Marie got up and walked away with the phone to her ear.  Meanwhile  David and his overload of magical power started to slowly die down but he had a scowl on his face when his ex-girlfriend called him a dragon freak. Travis got up after he was done eating and washed his dish. He then went over to the still angry looking dragon friend of his and patted him on the back.
