[Wold's P.O.V.]

"Wold. Are you paying attention?" My father asked. "What?" I questioned. "Do not read while I am talking to you!" He said. "I didn't know you were talking to me." I mumbled. "Talking back now, too? Gosh! With that attitude, you will be a horrible king!" My father said. "You can't even listen when I try to teach you how to rule a kingdom! You're too obsessed with those books!" I didn't respond. "So you're just gonna give me the silent treatment now?" My father said. For fucks sakes, what do you want from me? "Go to your room, and stay there!" He said. I walked to my room, and continued reading

After a while, I finished the book. I sighed as I put it down, upset that the rest of the books were in the library. I stood up, and looked out the window. My room was at a very high floor, so I couldn't just jump out. I grabbed some rope and a cloak, before tying the rope to the bed, and putting the cloak on. The bed was pretty big and heavy, so I was confident that it wouldn't move much. I threw the rope out of the window, and climed down it. When I got to the bottom, I ran to the closest village. When I got there, I first noticed that there were a lot of people there. I put the hood on, and started walking around

As I was walking around, I bumped into a guy. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" He said. He had red eyes, and his hair was brown and orange. "No need to be rude. It was a small accident." I replied. "Fucking weirdo. Why do you speak like a royal-?" He stoped himself from finishing his sentence. "Hold on." He said before widening his eyes. "You are a royal!" Wow. This cloak helped a lot (sarcasm). The guy started running away. "Are people really that scared of us?" I mumbled to myself, before walking the direction the guy ran

It took a while,  but I eventually found the guy again. He seemed to be hiding. "Hey." I said. "Wha- How did you find me!?" He asked. "I walked around." I answered. "Why!?" He asked. "Cause I'm bored." I answered. "No. Why were you looking for me?" He asked. "Oh, yeah. I wanted to apologize." I replied. "Apologize?" He questioned. "Yes. I bumped into you, and scared you away. I'm sorry." I explained. He looked at me with a surprised expression. "Hold on. You are a royal, right?" He asked. "I was trying to hide that, but yes." I answered. "And you're apologizing?" He asks. "Yeah." I respond. "So you're not gonna have me executed for being rude to you?" He asks. "You shouldn't be punished because I bumped into you, and I can handle rudeness."

The guy was silent for a few seconds. "Wow. You're a lot more chill than your father makes you out to be." He said. "He talks about me?" I asked. "Well, you're the oldest, right?" He said. "Yes?" I responded. "He talks a lot about how you're rude, and will have people punished or executed for much less than he does." He explained. "Ah. That sounds like him." I sat down next to him. "Huh. A royal willingly sitting on the dirty ground, talking to me, a pesant." He mumbled. "Never thought this could happen." "What's your name?" I asked. "Geran." He replied

We sat on the ground for a long time. I felt his head rest on my shoulder, so I wrapped my arm around him, and rested my head on top of his.

After a while, I noticed that it was getting dark. "Geran." I said quietly. "Mmm. What?" He said tiredly. "I have to go. If my father finds out I've snuck out, he'll send guards." I said. Gerann was quiet for a few seconds. "Come back when you can." He mumbled. "I will." I said, standing up, and walking away. "Bye."

I ran home, and climbed up the ropes to my room. When I got to my room, I pulled the rope back up, and untied it. I then went to bed, still thinking about Geran. I enjoyed being with him, even though it was mostly sitting on the ground... Holy shit, am I gay?

The next day, I was woken up by a servant who told me that breakfast was ready. I brushed my hair, and went to eat with the rest of my family. It was the same as most other days, but I was still thinking about Geran... "Mom. Dad." I said. "I think I'm gay." My mother choked on her water, and my Father looked at me with anger. "Absolutely not! You are the next heir to the throne! You're getting a wife when you turn 18, and you're making the next generation!" He yelled. "Go to your room!" Again!? You gotta be fucking kidding me

I walked back to my room, and floped on my bed. "Why does everything I do get me in trouble..." I sighed. I then saw the rope, and smiled a little. "I doubt anyone will notice if I'm gone all day." I put on the cloak again, grabed some money, and tied the rope to my bed again, before climbing out the window again.

I went back to the village, and started searching for Geran. After searching for a while, I heard some sounds. I walked towards the sounds, and saw Geran being pushed around, and kicked by a group of other people. "Hey! Get off him!" I yelled as I punched one of the people who were beating Geran. "Well, would you look at that? The fire-freak actually has a friend." Another one of the people beating Geran said with a sly grin. Fire-freak? The fuck? The others grabed my arms. I tried to, but couldn't get out of their grips. "Let me go!" I yelled. "That punch was actually pretty strong. What the hell?" The guy I punched said. "Some random twink managed to hurt you? Are you really that weak?" The other one said

Geran grabed a rock on the ground, and hit the guy that called him a fire-freak in the head with it. "Alright, I surrender. I'll just leave." The guy I punched said as he left. Geran looked at the other guys with an intimidating look on his face. The other people let go of my arms, and ran away. Geran dropped the rock, and sighed. "I didn't think you'd be here this early. Is your family that neglectful?" He asked. "I got in trouble during breakfast, and my father sent me to my room." I said

"What did you get in trouble for?" Geran asked. I felt my face heat up slightly. Geran grined a little. "Was it something embarrasing? Oh, you gotta tell me now!" He said. "Why did that guy call you a fire-freak?" I asked. Geran tensed up, and stoped grinning. "no reason..." He mumbled. "But it's such a random thing to call you. There has to be a reason." I said. He was quiet for a few seconds, before he responded

"My father was a phoenix..." I looked at him, surprised. "A phoenix?" I mumbled. "So that means you're half phoenix?" He nodded. "Huh. That's interesting." I said. "What sort of things can you do because of it?" Geran looked at me surprised, again. "Y-you're not mad?" He asked. "Why would I be mad? You can't control who you are." I said. He calmed down again, and laughed a little. "You really keep surprising me." He said. "To answer your question, I can create and manipulate fire, and I'm immune to fire." "I see." I mumbled. "Now, are you going to tell me why you got in trouble?"

My face heated up again. "My father said that I have to get a wife and kids when I turn 18, but I don't want that." I said. "Damn. Your family are bigger assholes than I thought." Geran said. "How did you get out of your room? I've heard that there are tons of guards in the hallways and outside the enterance." "I climbed out the window." I said

Months went past, and I grew very close to Geran. I visited him every time I was sent to my room. I knew this couldn't last forever, so I had to do something. I wanted to continue seeing Geran. Not only that. I wanted to hug him. To hold him. To make him happy. To kiss him. I wanted him.

I snuck out of the castle with everything I thought I needed, and ran to the village. I could hear guards comming after me, but I managed to hide in the village before they could get me.

"Wold?" I heard a familiar voice say. "There are guards everywhere. What's going on?" Geran asked. "I snuck out." I said. "They've never come after you. How'd they see you?" He asked. "I snuck out the door." I explained. "THE DO- The door!?" He whisper-yelled. "Why!?" "I don't want to get married. I want to be with you." I explained. "Will you run away with me until we get somewhere we can be together?" Geran's face turned red as I said that. "Well, goddamn. After that confession, how could I say 'no'? Let's go."

We ran as fast as our legs could carry us, but the guards got too close, and they grabbed Geran. "Let him go!" I yelled at them. "He tried to take you away from your kingdom. He is to be executed." One of the guards said. "What!? No! I tried to take him away from here!" I yelled. "You expect us to believe that? What reasons could you possibly have to try to do that?" The guard asked. "BECAUSE I LOVE HIM!" When I yelled that, the ground surrounding me, Geran, and the guards, turned into Ice, freezing the guards' shoes to the ground. It frightened them so much that they let go of Geran, who melted the ice around his feet, and ran to me. "I didn't know you could do that." He said. "Me neither." I replied, before grabing Geran's wrist, and running away with him.
