Marjoreece - Date Night

Congratulations

After Autumn and Winter had left, Marjorie decided that they should announce their engagement to everyone else. She decided to post some of the pictures on social media with a status: So something happened this weekend... Reece asked, and I said yes!!! I can't wait to be Mrs. Marjorie Knight. I love you Reece xxx It was accompanied by various pictures of them together and her showing off her ring. It was soon full of comments from all their closest friends and a few others. Reece and Marjorie having a very different approach to thanking their friends for their love.

{Carly: OMG OMG OMG! WORK MUM AND DAD ARE GETTING MARRIED!!! BAGSY BRIDESMAID!!!

Reece: Kids are normally flower girls not bridesmaids. Also if we have an adult only service you may not be allowed to come as you're only 12

Marjorie: REECE!! Don't be mean. Carly I haven't thought that far ahead but you will be involved, don't worry.}

{Mia: Didn't think you had it in you Reecey! And you took her stargazing. Always thought that was a solo activity. One for you to use to escape. Congratulations both. Marjorie, you're definitely good for him. 

Marjorie: Thanks Mia. We go stargazing together a lot. I love it!

Mia: Oh, in 23 years he never took me. You've hurt my feelings Reecey ;-) 

Reece: I don't feel the need to get away from Marjorie that I did from you Mia, that's the difference. And thanks, I know that's as close as you get to being nice lol.}

{Charlotte: AMELIA ROBERTS! Be nice!! Congratulations Marjorie and Reece, you really are so good together. It's so great to see my oldest friend so happy, and Reece, you've worked so hard to get to this point. I'm so proud of you. xx

Mia: Sorry Sweetheart xx}

{Sorscha: Ah that's grand. A nursery wedding is going to be one hell of a shindig!}

{Jodie: Totes Congrats!}

{Eric: Does this mean I can't hit on Marjorie? Marjorie's fit!

Carly: What did I ever see in you

Marjorie: No. Just no Eric

Reece: Try it. You thought it was bad when Autumn broke your arm, wait until I get my hands on you.

Carly: lololololololol

Marjorie: REECE!!! Leave him, he's just a kid}

{Siobhan: Well I know what someone like Marjorie would see in Reece, but no idea what you see in Marjorie.

Marjorie: Siobhan not even you can bring me down from this high. Sorry to burst your bubble

Reece: Hi mum

Siobhan: I've told you before, don't call me that

Reece: Actually you said don't call you mummy. Apparently that name is saved for my dad

Charlotte: Ew

Mia: Ew

Sorscha: Ew

Carly: EEEEWWWWWW}

{Roger: I hope you don't expect me to pay for it

Reece: I'm not even expecting you to attend}

It went on along those lines, even some comments from parents of children at the nursery. Most congratulating the couple. Interspersed with a few flirty parents still trying to have a crack at Reece and one flirty dad trying it on with Marjorie.

Monday morning came round and the couple completed their usual journey to work. The only difference today was Carly wasn't with them. She messaged the night before to say she was staying at Charlottes so would go in with her this morning. Marjorie was on the early and supposed to be opening up, but when they arrived and Reece walked her in, they found the nursery already open. 

"That's strange, I should be the first one here. No one else starts for 15 minutes." She said confused.

"It doesn't look like a break in but stay behind me baby." Reece said, taking the lead as he entered the building. He walked along the corridor but found nothing suspect. Then they heard a noise coming from the staff room upstairs. "Marjorie, do you want to wait in the office? You can lock the door while I go and check."

"No. I'll feel safer if I'm with you Reece." She replied, holding on to his arm.

They approached the staffroom door and Reece opened it, not sure what to expect on the other side.

"SURPRISE!!!!!!"

Reece looked confused and Marjorie, jumped out of her skin as all the nursery staff jumped up shouting. A huge congratulations banner across the wall and the tables full of pastries and cakes. "What is this?" Marjorie asked, looking around the room.

Charlotte stepped forward and said "We all started a group chat last night and we all wanted to celebrate you guys." As she said this, Marjorie looked over at Mia with a raised eyebrow. She didn't believe Mia was here voluntarily, Char must have made her come.

"Yes even me Marjorie." Mia said spotting the look. "I know I've caused a lot of trouble but it doesn't change the fact that for a long time Reece was my best friend and Autumn like a little sister. I like seeing them so happy at last. I spent to long watching them be miserable. Usually because it was my fault as well."

Charlotte interrupted to continue, "Anyway, we decided to all come in early and throw you an impromptu engagement party. I know you may still have a proper one at a later date but we wanted to celebrate you now and not wait. It was actually Carly's idea."

Carly looked over at the couple and blushed. "I just thought work mum and dad needed to know how much we all care about them and how happy we all are."

Marjorie ran over to Carly and gave her a hug, tears falling down her cheeks. "Carly this is incredible, all of you. You really didn't need to do all this  but it means so much that you have. You guys are all the best. I couldn't ask for a better team of people to work with and call my friends."

"Yes, thank you everyone. It really means a lot. Aut, this must be your idea of hell so it's appreciated even more. Marjorie, I noticed that even though this is OUR party, everything you said then was only from you. Is that your way of it's your wedding, not ours?" Reece laughed.

After food, coffee and Marjorie retelling the story of how Reece proposed to all the girls, who were all very impressed that Mr. Stoic and brooding could be so romantic, they realised they needed to go downstairs and set the rooms up ready for the first arrivals. They all tidied up, storing the leftover food for their breaks later, before going down to start work. Even Mia stayed to help set up as the extra hands meant they could stay upstairs celebrating for a little longer.  Marjorie and Reece went down to the office. "I can't believe they did all that for us." Marjorie said, wrapping her arms around Reece.

"Of course they did, they all love you as mush as I do." Reece replied, pulling her in as close as he could. They stood there holding each other, just enjoying the moment until Autumn came in and they leapt apart.

"Can't you two keep your hands off each other for 30 seconds?" Autumn scolded as she turned to walk to her desk. Once her back was turned, she smiled to herself. After what she'd seen of them last night, she'd have more reason to worry if they could keep their hands to themselves. It was still gross, it was her brother after all, but at least he was happy.
