After everything that had happened with his dad a few weeks back, Reece took it upon himself to work even harder to get him kicked off the board. He wanted as much evidence of wrongdoings on his father's part as he could get.

One night Marjorie woke up and instinctively reached over to the other side of the bed looking for the warmth and comfort of Reece only to find his side of the bed not only empty but cold as well, meaning he'd been gone for a while. She got up and walked around the house looking for him, but she was definitely alone. She grew worried when she looked outside and saw his car was gone. She went back upstairs to get her phone and tried calling him only for it to go straight to voicemail. She messaged Autumn and Mia to ask if they'd heard from him. Autumn replied, saying no, but he'd probably only gone stargazing to clear his head. Marjorie knew that was a logical explanation, but it was unlike Reece as he usually took her with him. Mia, on the other hand, replied with 5 simple words. "I'm on my way over." The fact Mia seemed concerned made Marjorie even more scared, however after Mia and Reece had made up a few weeks ago after what happened at the bar with Roger, they had gotten even closer so she was relieved that the person who probably knew where Reeces head was the best at the moment was on her way over.
Within 15 minutes, there was the sound of a car screeching to a halt outside followed rapidly by mad banging on the front door. As Marjorie opened the door, Mia rushed past her. "How the bloody hell did you get here so quick?" Marjorie asked. "Neither you nor Char live this close."

"I drive a fast car, Marjorie and I may have run a few red lights, but this is important. Have you heard anything from him?" Mia asked, sounding panicked.

"No, nothing. His phone's going straight to voicemail, and he didn't leave a note or anything."

"Right, I have one suspicion as to where he might be, but I really didn't think he'd be stupid enough to go there alone." Mia said, sounding more and more stressed.

"OK." Marjories replied, feeling nervous. "Where's that?"

"He's been talking more about wanting to catch his dad out in his dodgy dealings. I think he's gone to the office to try and gather evidence."

"WHAT!!!! He'll never manage that without getting caught. There's CCTV everywhere, and his alarm code will show he's the one that was there if the footage doesn't." Marjorie exclaimed at the idea of her fiancé's stupidity.

"I know that, you know that, even he knows that. I just don't think he cares anymore and wants to make his dad pay."

"Right, what are we going to do? We don't know how long he's been gone. We could go charging down there, and he's already on his way home. We don't even know for sure that's where he's gone." Marjorie started pacing. If that was where he'd gone, and he got caught, Roger was about to make his life a whole lot harder.

Mia saw the panic in Marjories eyes. She debated her next move for a second and then decided to follow her first instinct. She walked up to Marjorie and pulled her into a hug. Marjories panic was replaced by shock. After the initial shock, she put her arms around Mia and relaxed into the hug. "If he's caught, Roger's about to make his life even harder, isn't he."

"If that's what he's done, and he gets caught.... Yes. I can't lie. He probably will."

The pair stood there for a few minutes, just hugging until Marjorie asked, "I knew you'd worry about Reece, but why are you being so nice to me? You hate me!"

Mia sighed. "I don't hate you, Marjorie, I never have, not really. Although it did come close during your fallout with Char." Marjorie blushed at that point, although as her head was on Mias's shoulder, she was glad Mia couldn't see. "We got off on the wrong foot because I saw you as a threat to me keeping Reecey on a short leash for Roger. I knew if he followed his heart, I would lose him and have nothing to offer Roger in exchange for the details of my dad. So I fought to keep him tied to me. That meant you were.... collateral damage. I'm not proud of it. That then resulted in your reaction when you found out about me and Char, but in reality, you reacted like that because of what you'd seen of me. But that has meant there's always been this thing between us where we don't trust each other, and I'm really trying to get better. You're loved so much by 2 people I love, so I know you're always going to be in my life. As for pushing your buttons still now.... I do that with everyone. It's just so much fun. And at least when you bite back, it's feisty. It actually makes me like you more and think in different circumstances, we could've been really good friends. Besides, in all the time I've known him, I've never seen Reece like this. So happy, so relaxed, feeling so safe, by his standards anyway, so I know you are that person I wanted to make sure he didn't miss out on because he was tied to me."
