"Hey, Dante," Sera quipped one evening, a few days before the party. Sera had, yet, to find a partner. Dante hadn't said anything yet. She was sitting with Dante, completely ignoring a needy Freya Halliwell, who was constantly at Dante's side. Sera still failed to recognize that Dante did not want to be with this Freya girl. "Should we go to the dance party together?"

Dante immediately looked uneasy. He began o open his mouth, but Freya beat him to it, glaring maliciously at Sera.

"Sorry. Dante and I already have plans for this evening. He is taking me to the dance, instead. He asked me to last night."

Sera glared. "Fine. I'll ask someone else, then."

She got up to head to the dorms for bed. But she was quickly stopped by Austin Milos before she even got to the stairs. He leaned against the wall, blocking her way. He had a smirk on his face.

"So. Looks like you've failed to ask that traitor, Durante Knightley, out. Wanna come with me, instead?"

Bile rose in Sera's throat, making it burn. She continuously hated people calling Dante a traitor. He's done nothing wrong, except breaking the Slytherin tradition on his parent's side of the family. Sure, he's opened the Chamber of Secrets in his second year, but only by force while under a trance.

"Quit calling him a traitor!" Sera spat out.

"What? He clearly doesn't want to hang out with you —"

"Because Freya keeps being the needy little bitch that she is, and only wants to use him for attention. That's why. Dante knows better than that. I know he does."

"Sure, sure. Still. Do you want to come with me?"

Sera glanced over at Dante, who kept glaring at her and Austin being together. She finally shrugged.

"Sure. Why not."

Austin beamed. "Great! I'll meet up with you at the hall leading to Slughorn's classroom at 5?"

"Whatever works for you."

A couple of days before the party, Harry still had not found himself a date. So, naturally, he went to his sister for advice. But all she could seem to do was rant on about Dante, surprising her brother. Sera and Dante had always seemed to have gotten along with each other. Why was Sera suddenly detesting Dante?

He was surprised when he spoke about Dante's supposed relationship with Freya very calmly. He had assumed that she would talk about it with disgust in her voice.

". . . . Dante Knightley has the liberty of whom he should kiss whoever he likes. Frankly, I couldn't care less. Was I under the impression of going to Slughorn's party together so that we wouldn't be bored out of our minds by going with someone else? Yes. Now, given the circumstances, I have decided to bring someone else, instead."
