How can you be so angry?
What fight is left for you?
Can you battle the world while I hide away?
Scarring myself to keep from fighting you?
Does the hate you breathe char your lungs?
Blacken them like the tar of a cigarette?
When I hate with all your violence in my blood,
Will I also not feel regret?
What has made you so angry?
How long have you been this way?
If you were fine when I was a child,
Did you also learn to say, I'm okay?
When my body and mind is battered like yours,
Will it spill out into the world?
When we say the same prayers, talk to the same god,
Why does it feel like we're both unheard?
How am I so angry?
Was it you that made me this way?
I cover up, lay my head down low
Learn to hide behind a phrase
I'm not sure how I got here
But the feeling is nothing new
When I hate with all your violence in my blood,
Does that make me as black as you?
