Bunny bunny
Fur soft and white,
nose shivering, pads skipping
Heart pounding with life
Little bunny; bunny
Looking matted and tangled
Wild in brambles and thickets
Fur mangled
Bunny, bunny
White fur dusty and stained
Ears dragging and trampled
Breaths panting and pained
Oh bunny, dear bunny
Splattered with red
Lay down where you sleep
Grass cushions your head
Eyes glossy and wide
Set so far off you must be dreaming
Of prancing and grazing
Jumping and leaping
Oh little rabbit
You are much too young for a place like this
Smallish and feeble,
Docile.
Fetal.
Soft and so timid
Sweet and so little
Dearest bunny.
It's time to let go
Tooth and claw was never your fight
Shadows and gloom never your home
Darling
Let go
