Hyunjin was 14 now.
He understood from a young age that he had to obey Minho and he didn't really take issue with it. He couldn't remember a time when he didn't have to listen to his hyung.
Minho was the authority figure in Hyunjin's life, since he was little, but despite that, he never seemed like a parent. He always seemed like a bossy older brother.
Legally, Chan had adopted the youngest 6 kids.
Chan had definite "parent vibes." And technically, Hyunjin could point this out in order to help his case right?
Especially at a time like this.
Chan did seem to have veto power... He didn't use it often. But when making decisions, he would do what he thought was best for them even if Minho argued it, because ultimately, he was responsible for them.
Chan was much less strict than Minho.
Although, if you did get in trouble with Chan, it was twice as bad. Twice as scary.
But still, you could get away with a lot more in the first place.
So Hyunjin devised a plan.
He would casually ask Chan if he could hang out with a friend after school.
It worked. All Chan asked was if it was a classmate. Hyunjin said yes. And Chan told him that he had to be back 2 hours after school.
Chan didn't know that Hyunjin's friend was a girl who he wanted to ask out, and that they were planning to take the bus to the Han River, on the other end of the city.
Then Hyunjin carried out step 2 of his plan, which was to tell Minho with as short of notice as possible, so that he wouldn't be able to object.
He waited until school ended and sent Minho this text:
"I asked Chan hyung if I could hang out with a friend after school and he said to be home in 2 hours. K. Bye."
That should work, right?
Minho texted back

["I already have permission."]
