The air was thick and heavy with smoke and debris from the explosion created by Green Goblin. Coughing, I pulled myself from laying down, gaining my balance from some of the nearby wreckage before taking a step forward, swaying slightly. Seeing as I could support my own weight I continued to stumble somewhat blindly around, grasping any larger fallen pieces for support, my eyes darting around searching for any sign of his red suit.

"P-Peter!" I called out, my voice hoarse and broken. Clutching the small bag of cures, I attempted to climb over a large flat piece of ceiling, tripping slightly, causing me to fall to my bloody and scraped knees.

"Y/N!" I heard him call as he rushed over the rubble to my side. An arm wrapped its way around my back, placing a hand on my hip and one on the opposite side shoulder, pulling upwards gently, standing me on my feet. My tired and worn eyes met his concerned and scared ones, light hazel darkened by the shadows surrounding us, before I'm pulled quickly into his tight embrace, both of us shaking significantly.

"H-hey, hey! I-i'm okay...w-we're okay..." I respond to his hug by tightening my arms around his shoulders. I feel him place his face on my shoulder, burying his face into the soft material of my once vibrant (f/c) shirt. Taking a deep breath, I feel a sharp pain in my side, causing my knees to buckle and completely give out from underneath me, pulling me to the floor, dragging Peter half-heartedly with me.

"Whoa. Hey?" Peter asked as he helped me lay more comfortably on the ground, propping me up slightly on a slab of concrete. "What happened? You okay?"

"Yeah..." I uttered, my voice starting to sound breathless, "I'll be fine..just-...just need to catch my breath." I grasped his hand, pulling it onto my middle.

"Okay, well catch your breath. I'm right here. We're gonna take our time, you catch your breath, and then we'll take you to a doctor, okay?" He spoke quietly, squatting down more restfully beside me, squeezing my hand affectionately. My breaths evidently became more quick, causing him to place a hand on my waist in an attempt to calm my inhalation.

"Hey, you're okay, just..." He cut himself off, pulling his hand towards him, staring in disbelief and it.

"What..?" I questioned, my eyebrows furrowing. "Wh-...what's wrong Peter..?" His eyes dart wildly around us, searching for something. "Pete what-...what's wrong?" I ask again, worry filling me.

"Nothing happened. You're okay. You're okay..." He speaks quickly, continuing to search frantically for something. Trying to get his attention I placed my hand on his that was currently situated over my waist. Before I could speak, I froze feeling something warm and wet underneath my hand and his. Pulling it away, I placed it in my line of sight, my eyes growing wide and the red substance now covering most of my already dirtied hand.

"P-p-peter..." I choked out, staring at my hand as I saw him out of the corner of my vision turn his attention back to me. His eyes widened upon gazing at my own face, horror and fear written all over it at my own blood infront of me. Quickly, he placed his hand back over mine and pushed it down, out of sight.

"Hey, you're gonna be fine alright!" His voice quivered, making his words sound desperately reassuring not only to me, but to himself. "You're going to be just fine." I felt small, my warm tears leaking from my eyes, running down my face slowly, cleansing it slightly.

"H-h-hey Peter..?"

"Y-yeah? What's up y/n?"

"D-did you know, a-after a p-person dies, the human b-brain remains active for almost seven minutes? Remembering all its happiest memories..." His face grew sad, tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

"Hey, d-don't say that. Don't t-talk about that alright. Everything is going to be alright." Gently, he placed his semi clean gloved hand on the side of my face, caressing it. I smiled, my eyes closing slightly, creasing my face.

"I-I know...cause these next few minutes will be filled with you...."
