The world seemed to be collapsing in on me. The walls became too close, the voices around me too loud, and Five's eyes, his beautiful green eyes, too full of deceit and lies. I felt my blood boil and freeze at once, my heart squeezing in pain as the weight of Diego's realization, my own realization, slowly sunk into my mind, burrowing itself deep beneath my skin. My mouth becomes dry, my throat closing up as I sway slightly. He takes a step towards me, worry lifting his arms to catch me if my legs decide to give out. But I wouldn't let him touch me. I take a step back, throwing my arms up to hit his soft and gentle hands away. Stumbling slightly as I balance myself out with a hand on the wall behind me. Diego continues to curse, the pain and disgust evident through his fear driven words. Decades. That's how long I believed Five had truly loved me, and only me. But apparently, I was terribly mistaken.

"Okay, wait! Just wait, both of you please, listen to me." Lila starts, directing her statement to Diego and myself. "Alright, no matter how strange this sounds. Just listen." She pauses, gauging our reactions for a moment. "Five and I, we've been lost in a subway." I hear Diego laugh, turning from his wife. "It's not a regular subway. It's a way point between alternate timelines of the same moment in time." She turns to me, making sure I was still listening while Five keeps close enough to me in case I need it, while still keeping his weary distance.

"Yeah. You, both of you think I'm- we're going to believe that bullshit?" Diego says, nodding his head to me while crossing his arms over his chest.

"Hey, she's telling the truth all right." Five intervenes. "We got lost." He turns to me. "We couldn't find our way back." Taking a deep ground breath, I push off the wall, walking around to face both of them, semi beside Diego.

"We were searching for seven years, Diego." Lila whispers, her voice now hoarse with fear and sadness. The room goes silent, apart from Lilas stuttered breathing. I bite my lip harshly, stopping any tears from leaving my eyes. Klaus, Luther and Allison remain dead silent on the couch now behind me, along with the rest of the married couple's family, all standing in their kitchen. Diego takes another moment before plopping down onto the cushioned bench just in front of the fire face, dropping his head into his hands, balancing them on his knees, and Lila follows, careful to still keep some distance. I feel Five's eyes on me, but I can't bring myself to meet his.

"We were moving from t-timeline to timeline." She starts again. "A-and we had no idea what we would find. We were...chased, a-attacked, shot at." Diego glances over at Five, then to her.

"I never stopped trying to find a way home. We never stopped." She looks at me, pleading with her eyes for me to understand, to believe her. "But I got tired, and I had to stop running." She looks back at Five then to Diego. "Um, that's–when it happened."

"Do you love him?" I feel my body run cold again, waiting for her answer. But she doesn't. Not a clear one at least.

"Diego, now's not the–"

"Do you love him?" He asks again, his voice breaking ever so slightly. Her eyes become glossy, but still, she doesn't answer. And that was all I needed. Turning away from the broken couple, I make my way to the front door, grabbing my jacket along the way, and hurriedly shoving it on. Ripping open the front door, I hear several voices call after me, but they all get drowned out by the voices raging on in my head. Slamming it shut behind me, I briskly walk down the small path and onto the sidewalk. A woosh sounds behind me before a hand grabs my arm tightly, willing me to stop, but I don't dare turn.

"Y/N please, just listen to me–"

"Let go Five." I spit out. I feel his grip loosen slightly, allowing me to rip my limb out of his range. I turn, finding his alluring green eyes glossy with tears. Regret. Now that was something I didn't see from Five often.

"Please Y/N–" He begged, taking an uneasy step closer.

"Do you love her?" I watched his adam's apple bob as he swallowed harshly.

"Y/N/N...you know I love you–"

"Answer the damned question Five!" I yelled at him, tears threatening to spill down my face. He gulped again.

"I- I don't know." I laughed, or maybe I scoffed, I'm not too sure.

"Great." I spat out bitterly, turning away from him. "Just fucking great Five." I fall silent, the cogs turning in my head at my next move.

"You know how hard it is to be alone Y/N–"

"Yeah, I do Five. But that doesn't mean you go fuck her!" I yelled, pointing at the house, catching a glimpse of the three peering out over the couch at us before ducking hurriedly.

"I never stopped wanting to be with you Y/N. I just couldn't be alone again." I freeze, glaring at him once more.

"Yeah, well maybe you'll have to get used to that." His brows furrow as I walk closer to him. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I absorb some of his energy, just enough to not let him blink. His eyes go wide with realization. Watching me take a step back.

"Wait! Don't-!" His voice is cut off as I disappear, reappearing in an abandoned parking lot covered in snow, hot, hurt tears streaming down my now red blotchy face.
