Sprinting through the small section of unburnt forest, I dodge arrows being occasionally shot back from the Bad Boys figures.

"Joel, Jimmy, Grian!" I shout, trying to catch their attention. "Stop running and just give up!" A sharp 'NO!' is quickly followed by a small glass bottle thrown backwards from their group, filled with a brownish glowing liquid. Jumping out of the way into a barrel roll, I narrowly dodge the effects, picking my pace back up quickly. The chase continues for a few more minutes underneath the dense foliage before breaking out into a clearing filled with burnt stumps. No! If they get to the water I'll lose them for sure. I curse in my head. Whipping my bow of my shoulder I load it and fire without any particular aim, just barely missing the side of Grians head. I load it once more, taking a moment to aim, before releasing the arrow. Oh for goodness sake! The arrow, this time, flies right over the top of Jimmy's head, probably slicing a few hairs in the process. Grasping behind me into my pack, I grip the top of a glass vial, glancing at its contents I see the tealish glowing liquid. I was saving this for Etho, but might as well use it-. My thought is abruptly interrupted as I hear the snap of a bow string, the whoosh of an arrow, and an excruciating pain from my chest. I drop the vial as my run ceases almost immediately and I trip over a large root, falling to my hands and knees. Oh god. Glancing down I see a thin but long piece of wood with a bright white and gray feather on the end sticking out of my chest, just beside where my heart is. Leaning to my left, I sit on my backside, gasping for air.

"Y/N!" Glancing around wildly, I see Tango and Impulse battling heavily with the three, and Skizz quickly approaching me with a frozen in place Etho behind him, clutching his bow with shaking hands.

"Oh crap..." He quickly falls to my side, wrapping an arm around my back to keep me upright. I fall back into his chest, breathing heavily and sporadically.

"Ok, ok...I- I can fix you up, just- Etho!" I watch him snap out of his trance. "Get Impulses bag, quick!" He hesitates before sprinting back to the fight.

"Alright, I'm just going to lay you on the ground..." Slowly, he slides me down onto his lap then onto the grassy ground, careful not to jostle me around too much. Ripping off his tie and undoing it, he presses it around the arrow shaft onto my chest in an attempt to slow the bleeding. I whine in pain, gripping his arm with a death grip.

"I know, I know." He swallows deeply, his adam's apple bobbing. "You're gonna be fine Y/N." I nod, not fully believing his words as my head begins to spin from the loss of blood. Carefully reaching into my front pocket, I shakily extract a small clock, its face glowing a faint red with a web of cracks covering the small window.

"I'm almost out of time Skizz..."

"Hey," he pushes it out of my line of sight, "Don't think about that. You're gonna be just fine." He states as firmly as he could. I shake my head.

"Skizzle..." His turn to shake his head. Tears form in the corners of his eyes as he squeezes them shut. I place my empty hand onto top of the one holding down his tie.

"S-skizz..?"

"Y-yeah?"

"It-it wasn't h-his fault..."

Skizzleman POV

"It-it wasn't h-his fault..." Those are the last words I hear before her hand goes limp on top of mine, the clock slipping from her fingers. Her eyes are closed, mouth slightly parted, and hair completely askew. I see a bright flash accompanied by a loud boom of thunder coming from the dark, cloudless sky above. A few moments pass before quick and heavy footsteps approach us, falling still abruptly.

"Oh man..." I hear Tango's shaky voice, it usually always filled with so much confidence. I gently brush a few stray strands of hair out of her face. Glancing up, Impulse and Tango stand a few feet away, while Etho falls to his knees heavily on her other side.

"What did I do..." He utters brokenly to himself.

"It- It wasn't your fault Etho. Everything was moving too quickly."

"But I loaded that arrow. I pulled that string back. I killed her" He stated firmly.

"Yeah, you did, but I had my bow drawn too. We all did. Anyone of us could have done it. Doesn't make this anymore than the accident it is." He nods weakly. The sound of more rushed footsteps ring in all of our ears as two figures approach from the water's edge.

"Hey, all you alright? We saw..." Scotts sentence and voice trails off as he takes in the scene before him and Martyn.

"Oh damn..."

"What happened..?"

"We were chasing Joel, Grian, and Jimmy, but we got separated. Y/N went after them directly while we all tried to cut them off before they got to the water. She was running out of time so we wanted her to get the kills. But, there-" Impulses voice catches in his throat.

"There was a miss fire...and she caught the arrow..." I sniffle. "There wasn't enough time to save her. She was completely out of time." Scott cautiously approaches us, kneeling down near her head. Placing a consoling hand on Ethos shoulder he speaks,

"We should bury her. Properly. Away from all the chaos and destruction." We all nod solemnly. Ethos the first to move, standing straight before squatting down and carefully sliding his arms underneath her knees and back. Picking her up, he leans her against his chest slightly, grimacing at the arrow.

"We'll deal with that when we bury her." Martyn says assuringly. I watch Etho lean his forehead against hers, blinking away tears, and as a few fall into his mask, soaking it, I hear him whisper,

"I'm sorry..."
