As soon as I opened my eyes, I found Alya nestled in my arms. It was a surreal moment, one that made me question if everything that had happened was real or just a dream. But there she was, her presence a comforting reality in the midst of the chaos from the day before. I brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, unable to resist the urge to admire her beauty. She was truly remarkable, a ray of light in the darkness that had consumed me.

I couldn't help but marvel at her, despite the events of yesterday. She had been the only bright spot. Even though I knew she must have had questions, she had chosen to let me be, allowing me the space to process everything in my own time.

As Alya stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open as she met my gaze with a sleepy smile and her simple "good morning, Alex" became my new favorite sound in the world. I couldn't resist the urge to hear it again, to revel in the warmth it brought to my heart.

"Do that again," I requested, unable to hide the affection in my voice.

"What?" she asked, her confusion only adding to her charm.

"Call my name again," I urged, a smile tugging at my lips.

She chuckled softly before obliging, her voice like music to my ears as she said my name once more. "Alex."

"I love that," I admitted, pulling her closer to me, relishing in the closeness we shared.

But our moment of bliss was short-lived, as Alya reminded me of the impending schedule for the day. Reluctantly, she untangled herself from my embrace and headed for the bathroom, leaving me alone on the bed.

"Well there is no time for this all I have to go downstairs haldi is at 11 only so gotta do preps," she said as entered the bathroom.

"Do you want an assistant to assist you?" I asked, teasing her.

"I don't want to be late with the assistant actions while washing me" she shouted playfully from washroom.

By the time she emerged from the bathroom, freshly showered and dressed, I had set the table with breakfast.

"Did you order breakfast?" she asked, a hint of surprise in her voice as she approached me.

I pulled her into my arms, her back against my chest as I held her close. "Of course," I replied, pressing a kiss to her temple. "I wanted to make sure you had a good start to the day."

We had breakfast together and later alya went down to look after prep for haldi. I got ready in the white kurta she choose for me and went down to the venue. As Alya stood there, adorned in her vibrant yellow lehenga, the dainty daisy flowers adding to her ethereal beauty, I couldn't help but feel captivated by her presence.

Approaching her, I whispered softly, my voice tinged with curiosity, "So what's the significance of this function now?"

Alya turned to me, her expression thoughtful yet playful. "You won't understand even if I said," she replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Just think of it as a couple applying the turmeric together to ensure they stay together for long."

Intrigued by her words, I followed her lead as we joined the festivities, applying haldi to Elizabeth and Suman. I am so happy for Elizabeth as she found her love and got rid of our messed up family drama forever.

As I was looking at Elizabeth, I noticed Alya is going somewhere, I followed her and pull her waist towards my me.

"Where are you going?" I asked, my grip firm yet gentle as I held her close.

"I just have to look over some payments," she replied, attempting to free herself from my hold.

But I made my grip harder as I wasn't ready to let her go just yet. I reached for the tray of turmeric or haldi as alya calls it beside us, a playful grin tugging at the corners of my lips.

"You said by applying this, it will give us more time to stay together, right?" I teased, dipping my fingers into the turmeric paste.

Before she could protest, I applied a smear of haldi to my cheek and dragged my cheek across her soft and rosy cheek, leaving a golden trail in its wake. Alya closed her eyes, a soft smile gracing her lips as she savoured the intimate moment between us.

I turned her back against my chest and I took another handful of haldi and traced it along the curve of her waist, feeling her shiver in response. Her eyes fluttered open.

"You got it wrong," she whispered, her voice barely a breath as she tried to pull away.

But I held her close, unwilling to let her slip from my grasp. Then I spread the turmeric paste across her upper chest, relishing in the way her body reacted to my touch. She threw her head back with a sigh, her hand reaching out to grasp mine, a silent plea for more.

"No more for you, Alya," I whispered teasingly in her ear, my voice laced with amusement.

But instead of sulking as I pulled back, Alya surprised me by turning towards me with a mischievous glint in her eye. Before I could react, she launched herself at me, her determination evident as she started to chase me around.

I couldn't help but laugh as she pursued me, her playful energy infectious.
