...

Grabbing the picnic basket he had prepared, Seungmin wore his shoes before he locked his apartment door and took off for his destination.

He was dressed to impress, yet casually. He wore navy blue trousers with a white button up that had a blue and black checkered print vest over it. He had a pair of black shoes to go with it and a nice fancy watch as an accessory. He looked and felt good.

Heading into his car, he put the basket on the passenger seat before buckling himself in. He then proceeded to drive off.

Arriving at his first destination, he stepped out and into the flower shop in front of him. He and Jeongin always loved this shop, it felt quite homey and the workers were really sweet.

He got a bouquet of tulips, his and his lovers favorite, he was sure Jeongin would love these.

After paying at the register, with the cashier teasing him about who the flowers were for, he just laughed it off and went back to his car, placing the flowers right beside the basket.

He turned on the radio, it was playing a song. 'And I'm here by Kim Kyung Hee'. He leaned back more against the seat and let the song flow through his body while still paying attention to the road.

He felt at peace, he felt happy, he felt emotions he hasn't been able to feel in a long while.

Finally arriving at his picnic destination, he set out, basket in his left hand, flowers in the other. He took a look around at the seemingly endless green fields, how tranquil it was. How tranquil he felt. They felt.

In life, Kim Seungmin has been through a lot of hard situations, some he thought he would never recover from. But here he is now, walking to where he would spend time with the person he loved the most, the person who loved him the most.

Yang Jeongin.

He and Jeongin met when they were only children, they were friends who loved each other before they even knew what love was. They felt for each other before they even knew how to feel.

It was he who confessed to Jeongin, although he was extremely scared to. He thought his love was one-sided and would result in their years of friendship tarnishing, his biggest fear at the time.

He managed to muster up some confidence before he invited Jeongin to a picnic, just like this one actually. He had worn a similar outfit, with the same watch. He went to that same flower shop he went to earlier, got him the same bouquet of tulips. He even cooked the same meals and snacks that he has today.

You can say he wanted to remember that day, relive that day when he was at his happiest. His happiest when he told Jeongin how much he loved him, a few moments after they had sat down. His happiest when Jeongin kissed him to show his reciprocation of his love. His happiest when they conversed together, joyfully with no worries at all.

His happiest when Jeongin was with him, smiling, telling him jokes, laughing at his jokes, cooking with him, going on late night drives with him, having movie night dates with him, all of that, with him.

Seungmin still does all those things, just... without him.

Alone.

Without his happiness.

Not at his happiest, without his jeongin.

Thinking back to when he was at his happiest, with his Jeongin.

When he found out his Jeongin was dying, he discovered a new fear, losing Jeongin.

And when Jeongin had left him, his biggest fear of then became a reality; living without jeongin.

He remembers promising his love to be happy even after he was gone. To continue his life without him, to be at his happiest without him.

But, he just couldn't. He couldn't see himself happy without Jeongin, his happiness was Jeongin. And it was gone, both were gone.

Time really does work wonders though, and he found himself happy, maybe not at his happiest, but he was still happy. Kim Seungmin was happy, even without his happiness he was happy.

And now he is here, setting the picnic basket atop the blanket he laid out beside his happiness.

He sat down and brought out all the delicious looking food he had prepared, without his love.

After fully setting out everything, he got up and dropped the bouquet of tulips on Yang Jeongin's grave, right in front of his tombstone.

"Innie, I kept my promise, albeit late, I still did," he let out a chuckle, "I am happy now, I am content, even in your absence I feel... I feel, and I know what I feel. I miss you, always, every day, forever even. B-but I'm here, and I'm happy. And I know you're happy to know that." By the time he had finished speaking, tears had begun to fall graciously from his eyes, flowing down his cheeks and onto the grave of his love. But they were not sad, tears, they were happy tears.

He was glad to have finally found the happiness his love wished for him to find, the happiness he thought he would never find after losing his love.

He has it, and he will always have it, regardless of what life decided to throw at him.

Kim Seungmin was happy, wholly and truthfully.

...

I don't know if you noticed, but I used past tense to describe how Seungmin and Jeongin 'loved' each other. Hehe that was my version of a spoiler.

Also, was I the only one who cried?
