Death scythes can't be killed by your typical angelic weapon.
Death scythes can be killed by three different methods.
One: suffocation of all forms. Drowning, plastic bag, you get the point. It's the most difficult method because we are taught to fight in a way that keeps you from touching us.
Two: other death scythes. Our weapon forms are strong enough to kill us but most death scythes take an oath not to harm the other unless god himself specifies otherwise. God couldn't give a shit about someone as insignificant as myself. Not that he doesn't love everyone. Just that a simple Angel who fell in love with a demon, happens more times than others think. Not even seraphims can make a death scythe fight another death scythe.
Three: the first 10 angelic weapons to ever be made.
Back in the day, right, we didn't have the technology that we do now.
Angelic steel could be created by using a gallon of a death scythes blood. Since our blood tends to harden, it makes great weapons.
After the blood is taken, a blacksmith would use a demon soul and slowly create a weapon of mass destruction.
It didn't last long because my ancestors were not liking the amount of blood they had drawn multiple times a month. It made them weaker so they petitioned for it to stop and it did.
Until a particular scientist died in the human world. He made it to heaven for his revolutionary work and was immediately put to work by higher ups in heaven. He was able to create a device that could mimic a death scythes blood.
Death scythes would still have to donate but instead of gallon to make one weapon, it was a drop that made about 20 weapons.
The weapons exterminators use aren't as powerful as a death scythe nor can it cause really any damage.
As for those 10 original weapons made. 8 of them went missing. They are presumed to still reside in hell somewhere.
1 is in a museum in heaven. That one is not allowed to be used at all even in emergencies because of historical rules and what not.
The last one was gifted to Adam. It was a sword. That very same sort that Allison is holding right now.
It looked basic like a beginners sword in whatever anime you're watching but the power behind it. It's something never seen.
It can crumble me into dust if she manages to hit me in the right spot.
