After being beaten unconscious by a God and waking up in Limbo, finding your dead friend is a pleasant surprise. A surprise in which Hope didn't hesitate to hug. She hugged Landon tightly, disbelief struck over her features, the two stood at the edge of a dock over a river leading towards a bright light in the distance. "I can't believe this is happening." Hope breathed out. "How are you here?" Landon asked as the two pulled away from the hug.
"Oh, I got in a little bit of a fight, but don't worry, I'll heal." Hope told him. "Hope, you're the Tribrid. I didn't think anything could hurt you bad enough to send you to Limbo, much less-" Landon spoke before being cut off. "I'm not dead, okay? I promise. I just... got my ass kicked by a god to save our friends." Hope said. "Wh-Wh-Whoa, there are gods now?" Landon asked, confused and shocked, feeling his mind being blown. "You missed a lot." Hope said, smiling lightly.
The sudden sound of creaking wood filled their ears and they both looked towards the end of the dock, seeing the Ferryman had returned. "This is why we can't have nice things." Hope sighed out. "Yeah, well, in his defense, he just got back from ferrying my mom to Peace, so it would've been nice if you'd taken the time to show her around a little." Landon said, shouting the last part. "Then you have some explaining to do." Hope said as the Ferryman tilted their head at the two before making a small gesture with their free hand.
"I don't think we'll have time. The Ferryman controls Limbo, who belongs here and who doesn't and for how long. And since you're immortal. I don't think he's gonna let you stay." Landon told her after turning to face her. "We met when I was in transition into the Tribrid. He didn't mind me sticking around then." Hope said. "A lot's changed since then. Becoming the Tribrid was your choice, and unfortunately for us, I don't think this is." Landon told her. "SERIOUSLY?!" A loud, booming voice echoed through the woods behind the two.
The two frowned at the sudden shouting. "Was that..." Landon trailed off before hearing loud footsteps. The two turned, seeing Aaron charging out of the woods. He stormed straight past Landon and Hope, marching straight towards the Ferryman. "What the hell?" Aaron spat, stopping a few paces away from them. The Ferryman made a noise causing Aaron to scoff. "I should kill you right now." Aaron grunted before turning, stopping when he saw Landon and Hope. "Landon?" He asked shocked. Landon raised his hand, waving as he smiled awkwardly. "Oh, my god." Aaron breathed out before rushing over, pulling his friend into a hug.
"We've all missed you." Aaron told him, happy to see his friend. Landon smiled, hugging him back. Aaron pulled away, looking at Hope. "Guess you got hit harder than I thought." Aaron said. Hope shrugged in agreement. "Yeah. And he doesn't like me being here." Hope said, pointing at the Ferryman, who just pointed back at her. "You two know me better than anyone, so you know that I'm not gonna get wet just because Jolly Roger asks me to go for a swim." Hope said as the three of them continued looking at the Ferryman.
"Uh, actually, I'm-I'm reasonably certain he intends to stab you." Landon told her. "Well, then let him try. I'll break every bone in his body." Hope retorted causing Landon to sigh. Hope began to walk towards the Ferryman causing Landon to scurry after her and stop her. "There's no beating The Ferryman, Hope. Trust me, I've tried." Landon told her. "I'm sorry, are you on his side?" Hope scoffed out. "I'm on your side, always, but using your fists to solve problems is what got you into this mess in the first place. Because knowing you, I'm willing to bet you and Aaron fought that god alone." Landon said.
