                                              Royal Rumble 2016
"Ready to come back tonight, boss?" Joe Anoa'i (Roman Reigns) asked as he, Mercedes, and a few of their friends were hanging out backstage at the arena ahead of Mercedes' long awaited return to TV tonight.
Sasha Banks was returning after the Divas Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. After suffering a minor injury five weeks back, she was inserting herself into the title picture ahead of WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas this April. Mercedes was ready to come back and take the division by storm. 
"Hell yeah! Sasha Banks is coming to take what's rightfully her's. Can't let you have all the fun out there." She exclaimed, having fun with her friends before they spotted Colby crutching his way towards them. He wanted to be at the Royal Rumble tonight to support his friends, even if his injury had him pissed to no end. 
"Hey guys, good luck out there tonight." Colby said as he greeted his friends and they helped him sit comfortably with his leg propped up. 
"Thanks, Colby! Glad to see you here. How's everything going? You doing okay?" Mercedes asked. She's texted Colby here and there thus far during the injury, but didn't want to bother him too much as he had a lot on his plate. 
"Well the recovery part is going fine, I'm doing better than planned. Found out I'm gonna have a little girl, so I'm stoked about that." He began as Mercedes could tell something was coming up with the way he stopped his sentence. 
"That's great! You'll be a great dad to your baby girl. Everything with Natalie going good?" She nervously asked, seeing Colby get a cold, grimace look on his face. 
"Fuck no, we broke up three weeks ago actually." He blurted out as Mercedes gasped, feeling her heart sink for Colby as everything around him seemed to be crashing down. 
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Colby. Are you okay? Do you need anything?" She frantically asked, feeling sorrow for her friend.
"Therapy session would be great." He let out a chuckle as no one else around him laughed, looking at him with great concern. 
"No, I'd never disrespect a woman, let alone the mother to my unborn daughter, but Natalie is fucking psychotic. It's gotten so much worse. The yelling, fights, threats. I can't do it. I'll be respectful towards her as that's my daughter's mother. But that's where the line draws. Plus I saw a week after we broke up she was out fucking some new dude, so it wouldn't shock me if she was fucking cheating on me. I know the baby's mine, so don't even ask." Colby said, looking at Joe and Jon Good (Dean Ambrose) as they raised eyebrows. Colby confirmed a timeline with his brothers, knowing the baby girl was his. 
"I'm sorry, Colb. That's so hard. I'm here for you if you need anything." Mercedes sympathetically smiled at him, seeing that those very few words eased him up and meant more than he'd admit. 
"Thanks, Mercedes. Guess I learned my lesson, don't date Chicago chicks. Girls are fuckin' crazy." He admitted, that time earning laughs from everyone which is just what he needed in that moment. Time would tell to see how he'd handle it all, but Mercedes knew she'd be there for him no matter what.
