"I cannot believe today is Hayley's first day of school!" Mercedes grinned as she and Colby were drinking coffee together and she was packing the four year old's lunch.
It had been one week since Mercedes fully retired from in ring competition as well as addressing the WWE Universe and giving her farewell to them. Now that she was home, she was looking forward to sending her four year old stepdaughter off to her first year of preschool. Colby was there too as it was his off day as well.
"I know, it feels like yesterday you were helping me settle her on the bus when she was just a few months old. Now look at us." Colby chuckled as he filled up Hayley's water bottle and put that in the pocket of her backpack.
"Yes! Happily married for a year, I'm home with her now and hopefully this time next year we'll have another little one to join the family." She beamed, getting on her tippy toes to kiss her husband as he laughed a bit.
"Hopefully so, whenever the little one is ready to join our family, we're ready for him or her." He assured his wife, kissing her temple as she went back to finish packing Hayley's lunch.
Just a little bit later, Mercedes got Hayley up as Colby made her a quick breakfast. She got her changed into the dress that the four year old wanted to wear on her first day of school. After getting her dressed, they headed downstairs so Hayley could eat and Mercedes styled her hair into two french braids and tied them off with little bows at the end.
"You look beautiful, princess." Colby smiled as they were taking photos of their daughter outside the house before they'd take her to her first day of school.
"Ready to do this, sweetie?" Mercedes asked as she helped Hayley set her stuff down on the floor of the car while she got in her car seat.
"Yes!" She cheered as Mercedes and Colby were already enjoying the next chapter together, filled with fun changes going on.
